AJ Styles Named WWE 2K19's Cover Star, And He's Bringing A Million Dollar Challenge With Him

At long last, the cover superstar for WWE 2K19 has been revealed. WWE Champion AJ Styles--otherwise known as the face that runs the place and the champ that runs the camp--has the honor of gracing the cover of the next installment of WWE's annual video game.

The news was revealed by Styles himself, who also announced a special contest for everyone who picks up a copy of the game. "I have a challenge for everyone out there," Styles said during a conference call to reveal his role in the new game. "If you win the contest and beat me, AJ Styles, in WWE 2K19, you could win a million dollars. That's right. You heard me right. $1 million. Let's do this. I'm calling it the WWE 2K19 Million Dollar Challenge. All entrants can participate on the PS4, the Xbox One."

The rules are rather simple. Users will have to beat a yet-to-be-announced new mode in the game, then submit a video of themselves explaining why they deserve a shot at Styles. Four players will be chosen to fight in the semi-final round, with one winner going on to face-off with Styles in the game. If you want to start training for Styles early, he tipped his hand a bit during the press conference, admitting he normally plays with the Crow version of Sting from WCW when he plays the 2K games. "Sting was always my favorite," he says. "And so, that's the guy that I always played with. And my son actually plays with AJ Styles, and he whips my tail. But Sting is my choice. I've always been a big fan. The Crow Sting was my favorite, and will forever be my favorite."

More details about the new WWE game, including any pre-order bonuses and DLC content, will be announced at a later time. WWE 2K19 will be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC on October 9--in both standard and deluxe editions.
