Aliens: Colonial Marines Wii U delayed
Nintendo version of first-person shooter misses March release window; Sega declines to comment.
The Wii U version of Aliens: Colonial Marines--reportedly the best-looking iteration overall--was supposed to ship by the end of March. That did not happen and Sega continues to decline to comment on the status of the project.
"Still no comment on ACM, sorry!" a Sega representative told GameSpot today.
Three times now has Sega refused to provide a status update for the game. Developer Demiurge Studios is also not talking.
Gearbox Software CEO Randy Pitchford said last month that he is unsure if Aliens: Colonial Marines for Wii U will ship at all. "We'll see," Pitchford said at the time.
"That's not our call. I think [developer Demiurge Studios] did amazing work," he went on. "I think it's really cool, but Sega's got to figure that out. We're doing the best we can."
The Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC versions of the game were met by a cold critical reception at launch in February. This didn't keep Aliens: Colonial Marines off the sales charts, though, as the game was the month's sixth-best-selling title in the United States, according to NPD data.
