Aliens to invade Anarchy Online

Norway-based Funcom has today announced that it will release Anarchy Online: Alien Invasion this summer. The third Anarchy Online expansion pack will add a number of new features to the original massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), including, as its title suggests, alien invaders.

The new alien menace will threaten all of the players on Rubi-Ka, and a call to arms will be sounded across the entire planet when the cities come under attack. In addition to defending their cities against the invaders, players will be able to gain access to alien equipment and abilities, and they'll even be able to board and attack alien spaceships.

Other enhancements featured in the Alien Invasion expansion pack include a new line of flying vehicles, a new trade skill interface, and a number of new quests, weapons, clothing items, and armor types. Players will also gain the ability to build their own houses, shops, towns, and organization headquarters.

"With Anarchy Online: Alien Invasion we continue our focus on fun and fast-paced gameplay within a sci-fi setting", said game director Marius Enge. "While Anarchy Online is already considered to be one of the best MMORPGs on the market, we believe that the exciting new features in Alien Invasion will take it to a whole new level."
