Start streaming.

If you're thinking about subscribing to PlayStation Now, you can be sure there is a huge catalog of titles to check out. There are more than 500 titles in the streaming catalog. (We've updated the list below with the March 2018's batch of PS Now titles, which are available on the service now.)

The bulk of them are PlayStation 3 titles, but PlayStation 4 games were added more recently and additional games are due to come in time. To help you get a quick look at what's available, we've collected all the games into a list below from Sony's website.

No Caption Provided

Among the available games are Rockstar's acclaimed open-world western Red Dead Redemption and Sony exclusives Killzone: Shadow Fall and The Last of Us. Resident Evil 4,5, and 6, as well as Uncharted 1-3 are also among the available titles.

PlayStation Now costs $20/month to play all the games you want. The service is available on PlayStation 4 and PC, with a free 7-day trial available for first-time users.

I just got back into Fat Princess, and had forgotten what a crazy-good game it is. SJWs would never allow a sequel, but the gameplay concepts warrant reuse.

I really wanted this to do well, but it is just garbage. You can throw any number of games on a service, but if there is a half second of input lag then you just can't enjoy the game.

say what you will about the service... but that's a lot of games. the quality of content here puts the xbox bc list to shame.

@Xristophoros: LMFAO, you realize the number is approximately the same for both services and quality? That's relative to each user. Furthermore this "service" is useless to a large portion of people due to the bandwidth requirements, many reporting lag issues even when their service exceeds the requirements. Xbox One BC is MUCH better as it is FREE!

Drops mic....

@dlCHIEF58: that's why i was speaking explicitly about the content featured and not the service itself.

@Xristophoros: Wow. You really are a fan boy. Xbox One has backwards compatibility of over 500 games spanning 3 console generations. Many come with upgraded visuals, resolution and higher frame rate. BTW it's free. Playstation has no backwards compatibility. Now if you want to compare Playstation Now to Xbox Gamepass then right now I'd say PSnow is the better deal.

@Defender1978:

yea, xbox is better as far as the b/c service itself... but the actual games featured are FAR stronger on ps now. in case you didn't know, ps2, ps3 and ps4 games are featured so cross generational games are not an advantage on xbox. still, it is rather sad that xbox gamers have nothing else to be excited about on their platform other than old games being b/c... and for me personally, b/c isn't really an issue since i keep my ps3 hooked up and will do so for as long as i need to. is it convenient? of course not, but it is a first world problem. i have noticed some people have gotten too lazy to even put a disc in these days... geez.

looking into the future, if ps now can iron out the kinks, it could one day be a very good and enticing option to many. i have not used it in a long time, so maybe the latency/artifacting issues have improved, not sure. i would give it 5 years or so and game streaming will become far more advanced and widely accepted. sony has the leg up on the competition and they are at least showing some foresight. i don't think local hardware will be a viable option forever but it remains to be seen what steps will be taken. sadly, once games become digital only, the next step may in fact be to make the jump into the streaming era.

@Xristophoros: I agree with you on the new steaming era. In 10 years we will likely be subscribing to Playstation and Xbox like we do Hulu and Netflix. Hardware likely won't matter anymore then. Kind of cool. Kind of sad.

@Defender1978: I don't know if I'd go that far, Game Pass is less expensive and gameplay performance is not dependent upon your upload/download speeds. Plus it offers many games on release date, MS Studios and others.

If only it was PlayStation now, and not PlayStation wait for a couple of seconds of latency. Last time I used this service the lag was still brutal.

@johno357: knew that would be the first question. Usually in around 50-60 mbps, not the fastest net in the world by any means, but well above the UK average. The issues with psn in europe, it's definitely improved but it's still ridiculously slow.

yet nobody was interested in backwards compatibility according to their "research", and that's why they removed the emotion engine from the original backwards compatible ps3 systems? I'd been a manager at a video game store for over a decade, and that's what the sony rep told me (with a straight face, mind you). LOL at sony to their FACE. why would folks be interested in such a "ridiculous" thing now? playing older games? who does that? weird, huh? does new "research" tell you otherwise, or was it simply because the originally included emotion engine made less money for you from the ps3? I see how well THAT worked out for you. idiots....

US has more to offer than EU which sucks. Red Dead looks like a piece of shit on ps now so i couldnt play it. finished Beyond Two Souls which i really really enjoyed was a change to what i played recently and was much needed. going to play Heavy Rain while i have my free trail.

I kinda expect Sony to include downloading as an option to compete with game pass in future that's what I'd like to see anyway.

@gamingdevil800: The system doesn't work like that. The games are hosted on Sony's servers that run emulation software, which allows them to stream it to various devices without caring what that device is. In order to download and play games they'd have to make emulation software that ran on each device that they support and keep changing it as the hardware changed. I'm not saying I like it but it is far simpler and future proof than what MS is doing.

'PS Now is shit'....'It's rubbish because it's no longer on my tv'....'It's rubbish because we can't download the games like xbox'

What utter tripe. Why is it shit? I'm a member and I love it. £12.99 a month for over 600 games is excellent value (even better if you get the yearly deal). It's not on tv anymore...so what? Get a ps4. We can't download games....I don't want to! I hated downloading games from the xbox games pass. With PS Now I can play what I want and switch games quickly and easily without waiting for a huge download. I assume people complain about this because they have crap internet. I get that. In the Czech Republic we have great coverage and most people have a connection good enough for ps now. I've never had any issues with lag etc

Great service with a perfect selection of games. Long may it continue.

@czechrover: late reply but I couldn't agree more. Ton of value for the price. Gamepass sucks in comparison. I would rather be able to play games at a click of a button rather than waiting for a download. Sucks for people who have a crappy internet but not my problem. I love it.

As great of a list this is, $20 is way too much, especially on top of my PS Plus subscription. Needs to be $10/mo or bundle it with PS Plus with a slightly higher price.

@Legend_of_Link: All ready beat it, it was pretty good but I thought it was a bit silly that I could grind this one monster type to level up really fast. I was like 35 when I got to the area with the monster and afterwards I was level 55. Hopefully some of the evolved monster designs are better in the next one, I liked the game but I thought the evolved forms weren't very exciting.

The annoying thing is the list is from Sony's website, but it doesn't tell you which games are part of the subscription or not.

@darkprince2: They all are, you may be thinking of years ago when there were games you had to pay extra to play. Now you get access to all the games in the list.

It'd be really nice if Sony did backwards compatibility. IE I put my PS3 disc in and play it. Or at least do something similar to what Microsoft does on X-Box One where it downloads a version of the game and uses the Disc as a DRM.

Cool.

Keep adding games. Add all of them. Add as many as you can. The more you do the less it costs gamers each game.

Undo PS Vita's removal of PS Now (It was great playing Bioshock on it before the Bioshock Collection came to be).

Lower the monthly cost to $10 or annual cost of $99. Or even lower.

Improve the lag. Improve the lag. Improve the lag.

Add more PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4, PSP and PS Vita games. Just shut up and do it. Add all of them or as many as possible. Enough Rockstar games.

Then I'll consider re-subbing :)

that's a hell of a list. the service still needs work, though -- even on a 25mb/s connection, i see major slowdown and artifacting going on. there is much potential, but you will need a wired 50mb/s connection for best results.

I really hope Playstation Now fails. The implications of it succeeding and similar services becoming the future of gaming are not good.

Let's say your favourite game is one that is obscure or one that features licensed content (sport and racing games with real car brands being good examples). If it is not popular enough to warrant the resources to make it available (server bandwidth and any other maintenance required to keep it running) on the service or there are any license issues (like expiration, acquisition of an IP by another company or disputed copyright), that would mean that you can no longer play your favourite game... EVER! Nowadays, if there are similar issues, you can at least track down a physical copy or in the case of digital purchases, companies like Steam or Sony have an obligation to make your purchases available for download even if the game can no longer be bought.

Another issue is that, if games were to only be available via streaming in future, it would mean that emulator communities no longer have access to them. While I personally don't condone piracy for the purpose of playing current titles, the emulator communities have been playing an important role in preserving the back catalogue of video games. The video game industry has very little interest in the preservation of old games unless they can dub it a "classic" and sell (or more accurately, re-sell) it to us. Individual developers and publishers are restricted in what they can legally make available and an effort to preserve video games from the past would require an industry wide effort/collaboration and changes to current legislation regarding IP that is just not likely to ever happen.

So, for the sake of gaming's past and future, I hope Playstation NOW and any similar sevices fail HARD!

@StokeMeAClipper: well, it is just an option and nobody is forcing a streaming-only future down your throat. i don't think it will ever happen due to the fact streaming will never be as efficient as running a game on local hardware. there will always be a "box" of sorts to run your games. a streaming-only future would mean suicide and sony knows this too well. we aren't even ready to let go of physical media, let alone jump the gun to streaming with no other option. there is no reason why ps now should fail outright... there is a convenience factor, like being able to stream on your pc (in a different room) or another location remote, rather than be tied to your ps4. for some people, that is a nice feature to have. not to mention, sony can tap into a different market (pc gamers) who are not willing to purchase a ps4 but may give ps now a go on their pc. why would sony not want to cater to such a large market?

@StokeMeAClipper: You are absolutely right, some games would become lost unless digital will stay. This is also an issue I started spotting with the success of other streaming services. But it will succeed, because the argument of the price of maintenance just means the price will be different, but the hardware required to run it becomes cheaper, as they mostly have old games there, so they can keep it affordable and make it a good deal. Too many like streaming services where you just pick and choose with little waiting, so even if it should fail again now, (which I doubt as it's a lot easier now than when Onlive tried,) MS will certainly be the next to try and then they will succeed. They are just waiting for the opportunity.

@StokeMeAClipper: It will fail, these internet streaming services are ridiculous expensive to maintain, with time this system will become so expensive to maintain that these titles holder will receive little to no profit and will back away from it leading to it's doom. This is the fate of all streaming services, actually all digital services, but if they're smart they can delay this, but it will happen eventually.

Would you be able to provide a list of games for Europe? PSNow in Europe does not have the same catalogue as the US. I'm still waiting to use my free 1-week trial for when Ni No Kuni ends up being available here. It still isn't on the list for EU, apparently.

@KimCheeWarriorX: Most likely won't come, because Idea Factory is releasing them via Steam. Why stream when you can Steam? It's more money for the publisher.

Everytime I look at the list it keeps getting better and better. Then I look at the price and it's goes to a hell no. Even if I look at the dozen or so games on the list that actually have me interested I have to look at the fact that many of them can be bought for a $20 or less used. Makes it very hard to pay 4x the price of PS+.

@nedrith: The real deal is the $99/year (you can get it now during the Holidays). Access to over 500 games and about 10 more added every month, that's the way to go.
