Alliance glass Dignitas 2-0 on the first day of the Battle of the Atlantic
The newly formed European superteam showed no mercy upon their North American adversaries.

After the LCS Season 3 Wolrd Championship, one thing was wished for from the community, even more than addressing the EU-W server issues. It was the yearning for international competition from the fans of professional League of Legends. They asked, and they received as the Battle of the Atlantic kicked off yesterday! Five glorious Bo3s between the biggest North American and European teams are to grace the screens of LoL fans worldwide and will provide major bragging rights to the region that leaves victorious.

The match to start the event could almost not have been a better one as Team Dignitas and Alliance donned their gloves and entered the ring. Both teams entered with a lot to prove; Dignitas had to show that their dissapointing finish in last season's NA LCS was not going to repeat itself and Alliance, who entered the tournament with the highest expectations out of any team at the event, had to make an impression worthy of all the attention they received by virtue of their line-up.
In the end, the North Americans were powerless to stop the European juggernaut and lost both the games lopsidedly. To spur on the rivalry between the two regions, Alliance ended the series with a rubbing of salt in Dignitas' proverbial wound as they danced in front of the North American team's fountain whilst the nexus laid wide open. Many fans saw this as a sign of bad sportsmanship from the Europeans.
Alliance captain and midlaner, Henrik 'Froggen' Hansen mentioned the ploy they played at their opponent's expense and expressed that they did take their moment of jest too far in a Tweet after the game.
Gg dignitas. Messed around too much in 2nd game. But was great fun and awesome to win. Hopefully we can perform good in LCS :)

With all this said, Europe leads the battle 1-0, but the war is far from over! Will TSM be able to take their vengance upon Europe tomorrow when they face up against Lemondogs?
