Animal Crossing: New Horizons Sanrio Amiibo Cards Finally Coming To US
The popular Hello Kitty brand is coming to Animal Crossing with a set of Amiibo cards coming in March.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is getting a dose of Hello Kitty in March with a set of Sanrio Amiibo cards. The Animal Crossing Sanrio Collaboration Pack will be available at Target stores on March 26 and cost $6.
The pack includes all six Amiibo cards, each of which represents a Sanrio character: Hello Kitty herself, Pompompurin, Kiki and Lala, Cinnamoroll, My Melody, and Keroppi. Each of the cards also features a villager--Rilla, Marty, Étoile, Chai, Chelsea, and Toby--which were first introduced in Animal Crossing: New Leaf after the Welcome Amiibo update. You can see all six cards below.
These cards were first released in 2017 and did not come to the US originally. The cards worked with Animal Crossing: New Leaf and now New Horizons as well. Assuming the functionality is the same, they unlock a series of in-game posters for New Horizons that you can hang on your wall, displaying Animal Crossing and Sanrio characters. Nintendo has also said that "further details will be revealed in the future" pertaining to the Amiibo cards.

The Sanrio announcement was made alongside word of the Festivale update coming this week, which will take place on February 15. That event will let you capture feathers with your net to trade them in to Pavé, the peacock who runs the event. You'll also be able to buy a new reaction pack from Nook's Cranny for a limited time. More items are coming to celebrate Valentine's Day, Groundhog Day, and the Super Bowl, which you'll be able to find in the seasonal tab of Nook Shopping, and another update is scheduled for March.
