Arcade1Up The Simpsons Cabinet Preorders Are Live

Arcade1Up's The Simpsons cabinet features the original arcade game and The Simpsons Bowling.

Arcade1Up's The Simpsons cabinet is available to preorder now at Walmart and Best Buy. Originally announced during E3 2021, the cabinet has long been one of the most requested machines by fans. Celebrating the original arcade game's 30th anniversary, the cabinet includes the classic beat-'em-up and The Simpsons Bowling. GameSpot has an exclusive hands-on preview with a prototype unit that you can read now.

The Simpsons, originally released by Konami for arcades in 1991, has been replicated with a classic four-player control setup so that you and your friends or family can control Marge, Homer, Bart, and Lisa at the same time. The characters feature wildly different gameplay styles, with unique attacks to try out. Additionally, the cabinet comes The Simpsons Bowling.

As with other Arcade1Up units, The Simpsons comes with a separate riser to bring it up to standing height for adults, and it sports an accurate light-blue color with a marquee that also closely resembles the original, and the classic cartoon family is visible on the side. A lit marquee, exclusive stool, and a bonus tin sign complete the package.

There is also a trackball located directly in the center of the control panel, though this isn't used for The Simpsons arcade game itself.

I highly suggest to anyone looking into cabinets to skip arcade1up and just get an @games legends ultimate. I have a few arcade1ups, they rarely ever get turned on unless its just for ambience. The @games legenda ultimate is wayyyy beyond in terms of build quality, screen, features, controls, everything. I used to think that having a cabinet that only played one game or a set of games from the same universe was more authentic but the @games actually looks and plays more authentically bc of its true cabinet size and beautiful screen. So many features its too much to even get into, and having every single game thats ever been released on arcade1up and 1000 more is endless fun. Ive found so many hidden gems from the arcade glory days on my @games LU that its hard to believe I ever considered buying the TMNT arcade1up for the same price, crappier buttons/ sticks, half the size, smaller/ bad quality screen/ no spinners or trackball. Just trust me before you buy and do your due research, you will never regret purchasing a legends ultimate, guaranteed. Keep in mind I 100% support arcade1up. I love their countercade mini cabinets and I love that there js competition and choice for consumers. Bringing arcade cabinets back in modern ways is awesome no matter who is doing it, but @games LU is far superior for the money spent.

@climhazard5: You're not wrong but to go even further people could just save money and not buy a cabinet all together. Just get a machine with MAME on it and hook it up to your TV and game comfortably with an arcade stick or preferred controller from your couch or chair.

@mcnichoj: Oh totally love that option for whoever would want it. But I love the feel of standing up with a friend and clicking til our wrists hurt. I also have a functioning coin door on my legends ultimate so Im going for a good ol arcade vibe. Those control boards for tvs are awesome though too.

Heck yes! This is completely Awesome. I just wonder what they are going to add to this? Personally I'd love for them to add the TMNT games. That would be the perfect 4 player cab set up.

@dragonsama: They already did a TMNT 4 player cab, doubt that will release again anytime soon.
