Armored Trooper VOTOMS: The Blue Knight Berserga Story is a game that features giant robots piloted by mech jockeys in search of fame and fortune and was recently released in Japan this past week.

Players guide one of these pilots through an RPG-style mode that has the player battling for money in order to buy parts to improve their mechs, similar to the set up in Armored Core. Players can also skip to the action of the arena in vs. mode and simply blow the heck out of each other. Armored Trooper gives players the option to play in a two-player split screen mode or to link up two PlayStations.

The action of the game is quite similar to Virtual On in that it features a fairly small arena in which the mechs battle it out. Each mech has different armament in addition to the standard punch, kick, throw attacks.

It is highly unlikely that Armored Trooper VOTOMS: The Blue Knight Berserga Story will ever be published in the US. Be sure and keep an eye out for the VGS review of this import, as well as its addition to the Games You'll Never Play feature, which focuses on Japanese games that will never come out in the States.
