Asia focus for new online F1 racer
UK-based Codemasters recruiting for new division solely for the new online racing title.
Codemasters' last spin on the virtual track came in the form of F1 2010, but for its next lap, the company looks to be taking things online. The UK-based game house has confirmed that it's working on an original Formula One service-based online game, which will be strongly focused at gamers in the Asian region.
On its official website, the company says it is recruiting for a new development team called Codemasters Online, solely for the development of the game. The yet-to-be-titled racer promises to deliver a "fully official and high-quality Formula One browser gaming experience."
David Solari, vice president and general manager for Codemasters Online, stated that there’s potential to build upon the F1 brand’s success with this game due to the sport being popular in countries like India, Korea, and China. He highlighted that the aforementioned countries have a rapidly growing online gaming culture.
No further details about the game have been announced. GameSpot will have more updates on this title as it comes to hand.
