Assassin's Creed Utopia brings city-building to iOS, Android
Ubisoft and Gree team up for downloadable city-building and strategy game with asynchronous 3D battles.
Ubisoft's popular Assassin's Creed franchise is heading to a new genre. The publisher today announced Assassin's Creed Utopia, a city-building strategy game for iOS and Android. The game is in development at Ubisoft and social gaming house Gree and will arrive this winter.
Assassin's Creed Utopia is set during the early colonial history of America, just like this October's Assassin's Creed III, and follows how the Assassins might have left their mark on American history.
Assassin's Creed Utopia combines city-building and battle mechanics, with players carving out a secret colony of Assassins in the New World. Gamers must then defend their encampments from invaders through asynchronous 3D battles.
It is not clear if Assassin's Creed Utopia will tie in to Assassin's Creed III, which launches October 30 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
