Assassin's Creed Valhalla Release Date Moves Forward To Xbox Series X And S Launch
The sequel launches on November 10 across all platforms, with a PlayStation 5 release date still unclear.
Assassin's Creed Valhalla will be a launch title for the Xbox Series X and Series S, Ubisoft has confirmed, with the sequel now releasing on November 10. It will also launch for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and Google Stadia on the same day. A date for the PlayStation 5 version of the viking-themed game was not mentioned, given that Sony has yet to announce a release date for its next-gen console.

This new date moves the launch up by a full week, with Ubisoft previously announcing a November 17 date for its cross-generation Assassin's Creed sequel. The game will also support Microsoft's Smart Delivery program, meaning you will get all next-gen upgrades for free when moving to either the Xbox Series X or Series S from the Xbox One version. PS4 players who move to PS5 will also get next-gen upgrades for free.
The Xbox Series X version will run at a full 60 frames per second and 4K resolution. Improved textures and faster loading times will also be present because of the faster SSDs used on the newer systems.
The launch date for the PS5 version of the game is still unconfirmed, considering Sony has yet to announce when it will hit shelves or how much it will cost. Microsoft announced the Xbox Series S this week after months of speculation about the lower-priced console. It aims to deliver the same experience as the Xbox Series X albeit at lower resolutions. You can pre-order Assassin's Creed Valhalla now, with multiple editions to choose from.
Assassin's Creed Valhalla is looking to change a few things about the established series formula. For instance, don't expect the game to feature traditional side-quests--it will instead have "world events".
