Aussie game charts: November 16-22
New Super Mario Bros. Wii knocks out Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 from the top spot, while Assassin's Creed II makes it to second and third place.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 may have been the biggest launch in entertainment history, but it couldn't survive the sales onslaught from Mario's latest game. During its second week of sales down under, New Super Mario Bros. Wii moved up into the first spot in the overall Australian game charts, according to data trackers GfK Australia.
Assassin's Creed II only managed to take out second and third place during its debut week (on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, respectively). The PS3 version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 took out fourth spot, while its 360 and PC cousins can be found further down in the sixth and eighth positions, respectively. Closing out the week at number 10 is the Wii Sports Resort bundle.
