A few weeks ago GameSpot AU reported that Australia’s Gran Turismo (GT) champion, Daniel Holland, would be heading to Silverstone, England, to compete against 17 other Gran Turismo 5 players from around the world for the chance to race professionally in the European GT4 Cup. Unfortunately, despite ranking in the top bracket for the majority of the challenges competitors were faced with, Holland will be returning to Australia empty-handed.

Holland had to compete against thousands of Aussie racers before qualifying for Silverstone.

Due to jet lag and a neck injury, Holland missed a critical press conference where the would-be racers were evaluated and scored on how they communicated to the media. "I knew I was doing something wrong not going to the conference, but my body just couldn’t [do] it," he said.

In true Aussie spirit, Daniel Holland said, "I’ll go back to the drawing board when I get home. But I’ll be back."
