This is one scary crew.

As you've seen by now, Thanos (Josh Brolin) isn't alone when he comes to Earth in Avengers: Infinity War. He's brought four scary-looking aliens with him that make up The Black Order. Who is this group of baddies looking to tear through the Marvel Cinematic Universe, though?

Unsurprisingly, they have roots in Marvel Comics. As explained in GameSpot's look at the group above, they were first introduced in 2013 in the comics as the Cull Obsidian.` However, some major changes were made in the transition from the page to the big screen.

Now Playing: What The Hell is The Black Order? | Avengers: Infinity War

The most notable difference is that a member is missing. In the comics, the Cull Obsidian is a five-member group, consisting of Corvus Glaive, Proxima Midnight, Black Dwarf, Supergiant, and Ebony Maw. In Infinity War, though, Supergiant is missing--at least, for now. It's the only member of the crew not introduced at Disney's D23 in 2017. Additionally, Black Dwarf's name has been changed to Cull Obsidian, in a nod to the original group.

It remains to be seen how many of the traits the characters had in the comics will be adapted into the film--like Ebony Maw's intellect or the fighting ability of Proxima Midnight--but the group, which is also known as the Children of Thanos, look to be no joking matter in the film. Check out the video above to find out everything you need to know about The Black Order before sitting down to watch Avengers: Infinity War. The film hits theaters on April 27.
