Avowed: Emerald Stair Cartographer Location For Mapping The Living Lands

If you've made your way to Emerald Stair, the second map in Avowed, then you're ready to take on another mission in the Mapping the Living Lands quest. The original mission in the quest required you to find a cartographer's location in Dawnshore for a man named Sanza. Well, as it turns out, Sanza has sent out plenty of other cartographers who haven't reported back to him, and one of them lies somewhere in Emerald Stair.

Of course, just like the one in Dawnshore, this cartographer's location is initially a mystery to you. To see exactly where the Emerald Stair cartographer is located in Avowed, keep reading the guide below.

Emerald Stair Cartographer's location in Avowed

Fortunately, the Emerald Stair cartographer isn't too far from the entrance to the map or from the town of Fior mes Iverno. Sanza says in the quest description that the cartographer wound up somewhere near a place called the Naku Tedek Grounds.

This location is southwest of Fior and west of the starting spot in Emerald Stair. You'll eventually visit this part of the map for a main story quest in Avowed, but it's also fairly easy to reach from wherever you are in the region. The cartographer's general location will be marked on the map as a quest area whenever you initially discover the Naku Tedek Grounds.

Specifically, though, the cartographer is located on the southwest corner of the grounds. They're found on a cliff overlooking the ocean. There's no climbing or parkour involved in reaching the cartographer, so you can easily go to the location marked on the map below to get to them.

At this spot on the map, you'll find the cartographer's body lying against a boulder. To the right of them, you can pick up "Fleccia's Map," which is the item you need to bring back to Sanza.

However, depending on when you find the cartographer and Fleccia's Map, you might not be able to return it to Sanza. If you wait too long during the story that unfolds while you're in Emerald Stair, Sanza won't be available until the story develops more. Even if you pick up the map, you won't have a quest marker that leads you back to Sanza. I tried to return to Sanza's spot in the Paradis markets, but he wasn't there.

If you end up in this same situation, just complete more story events and you'll eventually be able to hand the map in to Sanza. If you have a quest marker that leads to Sanza after picking up the map, though, return to him as quickly as possible so you finish up this part of the Mapping the Living Lands quest in Avowed.
