Baldur's Gate 3 Gameplay Revealed, Early Access Planned For August
Baldur's Gate 3 is planned to launch in just a few months, but COVID-19 could impact its release window.
Baldur's Gate 3 was shown during the Guerrilla Collective Live event on June 13. The long-awaited sequel builds on BioWare's classic CRPG games, and it's planned to launch in Early Access in August.
A new trailer was released alongside the news, which you can view below to get a sense of the game's changes compared to earlier installments. The trailer featured pre-alpha footage, including our first look at gameplay. Should the team be able to record enough motion capture footage with its current setup, it will meet its August release, and the visuals have even improved since its first showing.
Changes have been made to the initiative system to make combat more engaging and the narrator has been altered due to feedback.
More information will also be available on June 18 at D&D Live 2020: Roll w/Advantage.
The Baldur's Gate franchise had been dormant for well over a decade before both original titles received remastered versions in 2012 and 2013. Baldur's Gate 3 has been announced for both PC and Google Stadia thus far, and developer Larian Studios previously received acclaim for its game Divinity: Original Sin 2.
