Baldur's Gate 3's Map Is Already Big In Early Access
The size of the Baldur's Gate 3 early access map gives us some idea of what to expect from the massive finished game.
Baldur's Gate 3 is now available in early access on PC, Mac, and Google Stadia. And while it's just a taste of the overall game, we can already see that the finished product is shaping up to be massive.
In our experience so far, we found that the explorable part of the early access map represents about 25 hours worth of content. But this sliver of the map is only about 1/5 of the total promised map size.
This doesn't necessarily mean that the full game will be five times as long. It's possible the rest of the map will be more sparsely populated with activities, quests, and content. Then again, it's also possible that the rest of the map will be just as or even more dense, especially in the case of the actual city of Baldur's Gate.

If you want to check out the early access and get a taste of Baldur's Gate 3, check out the recently revealed system requirements. On top of the promising map size, the early access version lets you sample a ton of the races and classes. There are 16 races or subraces and six classes in all to try, so it will probably keep you occupied for a long while. You can also read about how Baldur's Gate 3 is connected to the other two games.
