Battlefield 1 Has Most Liked Trailer Ever on YouTube, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Most Disliked

Battlefield 1 has over one million likes on YouTube, which makes it the most liked trailer of all time.

Battlefield 1 was announced last week with a trailer, and if you're wondering if people like it or not, then we've got an answer for you: it's eclipsed one million likes on YouTube, which makes it the most liked trailer of all time. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare was announced a week prior, and... well, it's not quite as popular. The futuristic shooter has surpassed one million dislikes, making it the most disliked trailer of all time (via Forbes).

Battlefield 1, at the time of publishing, has just over 1,107,000 likes, slotting it just behind Beyonce's Drunk in Love music video. Its also got a positive like:dislike ratio with just over 20,000 negative votes. It's worth noting that Battlefield 1 has not been added to the linked YouTube playlist, so this information may not be completely accurate.

On the other end of the spectrum in more than just name, Infinite Warfare sits at nearly 1,400,000 dislikes. Not only does this make it the most disliked trailer of all time, it makes it the fifth most disliked video in YouTube history. It's ahead of Miley Cyrus's "Wrecking Ball" and closing in on "Gangnam Style" by Psy. Again, it's worth noting these numbers may not be 100% accurate.

For comparison, the official trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens has just over 660,000 likes, while its teaser brought in over 144,000.

YouTube users aren't the only ones who 'like' the trailer. Infinite Warfare developer Infinity Ward posted to its Facebook page, saying "It's a great reveal trailer. Kudos to the DICE team." Additionally, Infinity Ward's director of communications, Eric Monacelli, tweeted congratulations to DICE and said, "Great song choice, looks superb with interesting mechanics teased."

GameSpot attended a Battlefield 1 reveal event last week, where we learned about the game's multiplayer, which reemphasizes its land-air-and-sea gameplay with swords, biplanes, and battleships.

Lead designer Danny Berlin also discussed the single-player, which he says "will more accurately reflect Battlefield's open sandboxes" and offer "much more choice and variety than [it's] done before." Talking to GamesBeat, he revealed that the story will follow multiple characters including the Bedouin woman warrior from the trailer.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, on the other hand, may be set in the future, but its developer says that the story's inspiration comes from war, not science fiction. However, Infinity Ward says the space setting allows for some unique features like "crazy environments," zero-gravity combat, and spaceship dogfights.

In addition to the futuristic warfare, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare will be remastered and released with premium editions of the game that range in price from $80-$120. This will be the only way to get the remastered Modern Warfare, as it won't be sold on its own.

Battlefield 1 releases for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on October 21. You can get three-day early access through EA and Origin Access on Xbox One and PC or by purchasing a deluxe edition of the game.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare hits the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on November 4. The PS4 will have timed-exclusivity on the game's DLC because of a deal that started with last year's Black Ops III.

Know what's funny about this anti CoD, pro BF rivalry? The last BF launched with massive issues, yet now that seems to have been long forgotten about. I'm neutral as I like both, but I find this absolutely hilarious as no CoD launched broken as BF 4 did, yet now it's all hail King BF. Fickle group, us gamers.

@e3man01: It doesn't have anything to do with functionality at this point. These numbers are simply about the direction these games are going in. Call of Duty has been going more and more futuristic against the wishes of their fans for years now and they are paying the price. Battlefield decided to do the opposite and go back in time. Obviously, the fans love this. I do too. I wish Call of Duty would go back to World War II but the developers just don't seem to understand what their fans want.

@Fitcherman: There is a thing called artistic expression. If a developer feels that they wish to go a certain route with their game, then they should, and provided that the game is good, then I'll probably buy it.

Gamers aren't the arbiters of developers' decisions.

@desdar1234: Obviously. The thing is, this developer is going this direction because they mistakenly think that is what their fans want. They are not pulling a George Lucas here and trying to go off and make small, independent films that everyone knows will be less popular. Activision/Infinity Warfare has every intention of putting out a powerhouse game that sells millions of copies. They just have no clue what their fans want and the likes/dislikes between the Infinite Warfare trailer and the Battlefield 1 trailer show that in a very clear fashion.

You know how sometimes you start an install or download and the progress bar stops at about 5% while refusing to continue? That's how the like/dislike bar looks right now for CoD.

It's never been remotely the same game to me. I sucked at COD forever because it's so confined and my run and gun skills aren't what they used to be. Finally got a significant K:D ratio and you know...?

I still love battlefield more. It's so much more strategic and just all out war, "holy s*%+ I'm still alive" moments and better immersiveness.

I'll give it to COD for the DM fluidity, and SP, but for fun factor and success death or not I go battlefield all the way.

Miss me some Desert Combat Mod!!!!!

Can't wait for Battlfield 1

I love that they release COD every year...and we shouldn't overlook the importance of that. Every year they release it is one more year i don't have to hear whiny little kids screaming into their mics...lets the kiddies have their twitch generic shooter, leave BF for the adults...i say this is win win.

@RogerioFM: I have Arma. The only thing it was good for was Day Z and the cops and robbers mods. Or any of the other mods in general. The core game sucked. You want a military sim then join the services. I'm not playing video games for absolute realism. Especially not when it has super clunky interface and controls. Would much rather play Rising Storm if I wanna get shot and bleed out instead of dying immediately. To each their own I guess I just figured I'd insult you back for insulting others just for their taste in games. In that sense, you're too are a child.

@RogerioFM: Arma? You mean that wannabe rigid simulation that doesn't take into account different human builds and their effects, but rather how every human characteristic in the game is the same? Arma is far from real life, it is just like battlefield but with more controls and a lowered health bar.

@xgalacticax: yep. You beat me to the same comment! COD ALWAYS sells much more than battlefield . Even the haters buy it! I'd love to see battlefield step it up a little bit, and I sincerely hope this new one will be as good as or better than COD because ,on paper, it is.

and yet we still buy it.....and the DLC....and the microtransactions......and the season passes......and the yearly subscriptions LOL and they know how stupid we are, they arrogantly bundled it with the remake, even though we are still waiting for backward compatible LOLOLOL scam anyone?

Actually, i wont buy it, if i wanted to play the old one we would all just fire up a 360, but oh wait, they patched that console to the point where its unplayable and there is no one online to play.

so why would i buy the bundled remake? just for a week of nostaglia? and buy more DLC LOL No thanks, maybe sell it separate and we might think about it.

BF1's trailer is just designed better, frankly. The substance material helps, but the cutting is better, the sound is better, etc. Also the whole "pay an extra 20-60 bucks for this remaster" tacked on at the end there is DEFINITELY contributing to the dislikes. If that's not a marketing ploy to suddenly go "wait, here have the remaster for free, we listened look we're great", I'll lmfao.

@Swoopalz: That's pretty much my thoughts on the issue. That has nothing to say on the gameplay.

People who talk as if these trailers speak to the level of the gameplay is retarded.

After watching both trailers

better music - BF1 - it is just scintillating music

better gameplay demonstration - CoD but not by much... BF1 was close but has a lot of shaky cam scenes to the point where you can't tell whats going on much in some parts of trailer

better overall feel - BF1

better variety of elements - BF1 with horses, old warplanes, ships, old tanks, old weapons, gasmasks etc. AND HORSES! AND SWORDS!

cohesive trailer - BF1

overall winner - BF1 by a large margin. CoD seemed like a convoluted mess of a trailer

Definitely looking at these 2 I would probably buy BF1

That's what happens when you don't research your demographic. COD fans have been saying for the last couple years that futuristic entries are getting stale and feel un-inspired.

Where as DICE did a smart thing taking Battlefield back the other direction. WW1/WW2 has been done and overdone already, but on this gen of consoles using an overhauled Frostbite engine... That can make an old concept feel fresh and add new possibilities. Good on them.

@bigcrusha: Not to nit-pick too much, but you said "WW1/WW2" as if they are both in the same category. Being that both wars are a huge historian-hobby to me, they are COMPLETELY different from each other. I don't mean to be rude or anything, but just wanted to clarify for you and many others who may not know much about one or the other of these two wars. By comparison, they are VASTLY different from one another. Yes, WW2 has been overcooked already, but WW1? No way. WW1 is way underused. Main reason is the challenge it would be to appeal to the younger crowd of gamers with the lack of guns that give that "WOW" factor. Almost all fully automatic weapons in WW1 were way too heavy to just carry/run around with. Rifles were mostly bolt-action. Hand guns actually were semi-auto, but they had clips on average of 8 rounds. However, WW1 did use a substantial amount of chemical weapons, which hopefully will be used in an interesting way in the new BF1 game.

In contrast to WW1 weapons, WW2 had much more advanced weapons, with many LMG's and SMG's already abundant in production and much more mobile for just one soldier to carry and run with. Plus, WW2 was pretty much "The World vs. Two Great Evils" (great evils being Hitler/Nazis and the Japanese Empire, (the Japanese being the lesser of two evils)). WW1 was really just an arms race. Yes, there were major events that lead up to war, but an arms race was the foundation. The whole war practically ended in a stalemate situation. which was honestly for the best, otherwise the casualty count would've most likely been even higher.

None-the-less, I'm still really excited to see how Battlefield 1 turns out.

Because 90% of the people that watch videos on Youtube don't "like" or "dislike" videos. This is a small vocal minority and should be ignored.

@Spanky226: "1. Where'd you get this 90% figure from?" Well if we take this Battlefield 1 trailer for example, it has about 25 million views and 1,3 million likes, which is about 4-5% of that, so yeah I'd say that's the minority, and it's just a fact that large majority of people don't like or dislike videos, you can clearly see it by comparing them to views. Though they shouldn't be ignored, even if it is minority who like and dislike, that's still a lot of likes and not nearly every video gets that even if they have crapton of views.

I wish Bot mode would be implemented on more of these modern shooters nowadays. Once the online community is done with Call of Duty this or Battlefield that, the games become useless outside of their super short campaign modes. At least CoD has zombies offline.

Regardless, it is nice that a game dev is finally going into newer territory. I can't think of another game off the top of my head that has done WWI except for Valiant Hearts (nice little side-scroller game).

Everybody around here saying: ''people will still but the game, watch it sell millions'', Bitches please ya'll know that is because they don't wanna sell COD 4 remaster seperatly. If that game was being sold seperatly IW would have litterly eaten BF 1 dust.

Yes, i love battlefield, sue me.
