Battlefield 2042, the next entry in DICE's popular first-person shooter series, has been delayed to November 19. A fully multiplayer entry in the franchise, Battlefield 2042 takes players to future ravaged by war and altered by climate change climate. If you've been anxiously awaiting the latest entry in the long-running franchise, preorders are popping up at retailers already. Multiple editions are available for purchase, and preordering early will get you some cool bonuses, including early entry into the beta that kicks off later this year.

Battlefield 2042 will be available for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. While previous generation and PC editions will start at $60, PS5 and Series X standard editions cost $70. However, in addition to next-gen visual and performance enhancements, the PS5 and Series X versions of the game will allow 128 players in one match, which is double the number on PS4 and Xbox One. EA Play subscribers will be able to get a discount on the Xbox Store, dropping the price of the Xbox Series X version to $63 and the Xbox One version to $54. You can also get a 12% discount on all three editions for PC by preordering at GMG (Origin code).

Anyone else feel the need to hold off on pre-orders because you have to wonder if this title will end up on game pass? Weather it be on the release date or when EA adds it to EA Play. Battlefield 5 wasn't the success that EA wished it had been and EA has always fallen short to Call of Duty. If they bring it to Gamepass, boost a crazy player base, just like the success of Outriders for those 3 weeks, then it will have alot of people invested into their game. I have to wonder why they revealed it yesterday and not at E3. I wonder if its because more announcements are coming this weekend.

@gunsblazing777: That's exactly what I'm doing. Not to mention, that I still feel burned by preordering BFV.

No that i didn't enjoy any BF in the series in multiplayer bf4 being my fav but come one 7 maps for £60, not to mention the "optional" MT's.

I'm very much looking forward to playing this, its loads of fun but EA should be offering at least say 12 maps without any single player campaign to play for that price.

That will not do! I was really happy about the leak. But this is not what I expected. A solid campaign is a must. Cod is getting more and more annoying with the shitty advertising and these impossible price models. In the future I will probably pass all cod as long as this aggressive money machine is rolling.

Damn i hoped to see a damn good campaign again. COD failed again and again. Best is still modern warfare 1 and 2 the remakes. All other campaigns are kind a lame try.

Frostbite is a beatufull engine it just hurts when you don't have a phenomenal campagne. Here you really miss the customer to blow.

I have a really bad feeling here. The price is too high for a pure multiplayer. It will definitely end with aggressive advertised content. The UI is hopefully clear and simply it just pukes at what you get presented nowadays. The UI is absolutely secondary and should not be structured like a complex lexicon. Nice that there are people who mean they are good but such UI in games are crap and you need just a very simple one ( they are overloaded crap ).

Game looks cool.

But, ah ah ahhhh.....not getting me again with another pre-order with the notorious EA half assed game, that we are the beta testers for.

No single player. I wont be touching then. Thats fine. Its better they go all in on mp or sp. Just wish they would make a sp only experience.

This is so insulting. Why is it $60 when there is no single player? That makes 0 sense. The fact that are three different editions when you are paying more and so little content. The MP will be full of useless digital goods. COD got alot of hate when they decided not to do a SP. Slap in the face.

Online only = riddled with microtransactions.

There's no way I'm paying for a game like that, it should be F2P not premium priced.

I like the direction of this new battlefield and I think long time fans who were not happy with how the previous game was handled will be celebrating right now but what's up with the no campaign (unless I missed it)?

While I think the rest of the game is a step in the right direction as an old school gamer it's kind of hard for me to justify spending X amount of dollars for online only. That's just me though. I know there are tons of gamers out there who couldn't care less about a campaign mode, but still...

-WHERE'S THE CAMPAIGN? NINJA APPROVED-
