Battlefield 5 Roadmap Includes "One More" Big Update

You can claim new weapons this summer, and after that DICE will be kicking off weekly events.

Battlefield 5 is preparing to wrap up the Into the Jungle event near the end of April, and preparing for the next set of updates. Senior producer Ryan McArthur outlined the upcoming roadmap in a post on the EA Blog.

For starters, McArthur says "one more standalone update" is planned for this summer, which could signify that this is the last major update planned for Battlefield 5. It will add "new content, weapons, and game tweaks," but the blog notably doesn't mention if it will include new maps. Sometime after the summer update, Battlefield currency and Company Coin will be offered as weekly rewards to unlock gear.

DICE is also planning community events like weekly community games on Fridays and Throwback Thursdays featuring previous Battlefield games. It's also continuing work on the community games updates, and is still working to root out cheaters. It recommends using the community tools walkthrough to report cheaters.

The studio has kept the community engagement going with regular updates between the major content drops, like tank customization and free Company Coin. Into the Jungle ends on April 29.

Would like to see some love for firestorm, feels like it's been ignored for a long time now. It's too good of a game mode to be left to die. EA should split it off from the main game and release it for free.

@AvatarFACE: Yep. It's my personal favorite battle royale but it's frustrating how it never got more than just the one map :(

If EA decides to follow Warzone and do a free to play battle royale I imagine it will instead be spun off from a future "Battlefield 6" or whatever

"Senior pro ... McArthur" I didn't know Gen McArthur was still around ... kidding :-)

I love the game, and enjoyed FS very much was one of my favorite BRs very innovative, I especially like the destructible buildings, fun. Too bad, it's hard to matchmake, it's not like I've given up but actually the game has ... it cancels matchmake saying "can't find anyone" or whatever.

I am still waiting on D-Day and the Eastern Front. What a colossal failure (more than it already is, of course) the game will be if they don't include that all because they decided to mess around with stuff no one wanted like the "unknown battles of WW2".
