Bayonetta 3 US Pre-Order Guide - Nintendo Switch

Blam blam.

Here's what we know so far about Bayonetta 3: Platinum Games is developing it, and Nintendo will publish it as a Switch exclusive. When it will arrive is anyone's guess at this point, however. We saw a teaser trailer during the Game Awards 2017, but the upcoming action title was a no-show at E3 2018. So far, we find ourselves with more questions than answers. Despite the lack of information, you can already lock in your Bayonetta 3 pre-order, and even get a nice discount from one retailer.

The teaser trailer is the only actual Bayonetta 3-related document that's available so far, and it doesn't show any gameplay footage, so it offers few hints. But it does feature the leather-clad heroine wielding dual pistols, her weapons of choice in the previous installments.

Bayonetta 1 & 2 on Switch

No Caption Provided

Speaking of previous installments, if you're looking to brush up on the series before Bayonetta 3 comes out, $50 gets you a physical copy of Bayonetta 2 on Switch, which comes with a digital code for the first game. For those who prefer digital Switch games, you can buy both titles from the Nintendo Eshop for a total of $60.

But if it's Bayonetta 3 you're after, you have several pre-order options so far. No pre-order bonuses are available at this time, but we'll add them here if that changes in the future.

Pre-Order Bayonetta 3

At the time of this writing, Walmart has the best Bayonetta 3 pre-order deal, offering $10 off the MSRP.

After seeing the VP of Platnium going off on folks on twitter for not commenting in Japanese, I guess I'll hold off on getting this game when I get my switch at tax return time. I dont support dbags like this.

@smashthestars: Pretty sure he's joking. Kamiya is a little crazy. Kinda like Yoko Taro (creator of Nier).‏

@drsw36: I would hope so. I personally know many people who's success has made them a toxic person, so its not surprising if this was the case though

@smashthestars: it’s being published by Nintendo and Nintendo is helping fund the development. The Bayonetta series is now Nintendo-exclusive

@smashthestars: No reason at all to expect that it would.

@aross2004: No reason at all to expect that it wouldn't. Its made by a third party company, Sony can come to an arrangement with Nintendo, if you didn't know, Nier Automata and Crash Bandicoot were Sony exclusives, but now are available in other consoles.

@Tidus1012: while PlatinumGames is third party, the games were funded and published by Nintendo. Also Crash was a timed exclusive because Sony no longer owns the IP. Activision didn’t need funding from Sony to make it, they just paid for timed exclusivity. Sony did the same thing with Nier. They only paid for timed exclusivity. Meanwhile Nintendo paid for the second and third Bayonetta to even exist

@Tidus1012: There's several reasons to expect this won't happen.

1. Bayonetta 2 was funded and published by Nintendo and did not hit PS or XBOX consoles.

2. Bayonetta 3 is being funded and published by Nintendo again.

But hey, I'm wrong at least twice a day, so we'll have to see what happens. Just sounds like wishful thinking to me when B2 didn't land on other consoles.

@Tidus1012: Nintendo is the sole publisher of it. It will never see the day of light on another platform besides Nintendo’s.
