Whether you intend to use one for gaming, work, or production, 4K monitors are becoming an increasingly popular option. True 4K has become more achievable than ever thanks to advances in graphics cards with tech like Nvidia's DLSS and the release of the PS5 and Xbox Series X. This technology has made 4K displays very desirable as we can finally take advantage of the better image quality and higher resolution. There's no shortage of great 4K monitor options out there with high refresh rates, low response times, and more. (Though if you're thinking about refresh rates for competitive gaming, see our guides to the best 144Hz monitors and best 240Hz monitors.) With that in mind, we've rounded up the best 4K monitor options on the market in 2022 from top brands like LG, Asus, and Dell.

If you're considering buying a new display this year, see our breakdown of gaming monitors vs. TVs and our list of the best 4K TVs for gaming. I received my PS5 today from Walmart. I hooked it up to my 25" Alienware 1080p monitor and it looks fantastic. It doesn't have HDR, obviously but I haven't found anything cost effective as of yet. The closest i've found are the new Sony A90J and those are around $1100 which is a bit more than I want to spend.

If you can get some distance from it, the 48" LG CX is really the best deal for a gaming monitor. You get OLED picture quality, low response times, g-sync compatibility and plenty of HDMI 2.1 ports which are pretty much required for 4k/120Hz gaming. Before hating on OLED, consider the newer displays are much harder to burn-in. Sure, a 27" monitor may be cheaper, but you are missing out on a lot of features and 27" is just too small for 4k in my opinion.

@aodmisery: not anymore. They have done some advances and small monitor's are the best choice for gaming right now and it also depends on the distant you viewing your monitor. I bought the fourth in this list the - Acer Predator XB273K . That monitor It is going right now for $629.99 at amazon. I pay 829.99 when i bought mine so i'm really mad right now that just 3 months after i bought it, the price drop to $629.99. I ended up paying more but i still ended up saving a lot of money since that monitor when it first came out was going for $1.400.00. At least i did save something.
