There's a lot to consider when shopping for the best gaming desks during Prime Day. Your desk is the unsung hero of your gaming or office setup, acting as the central hub housing your entire setup. It needs to be large enough to support your gaming PC and consoles, plus your monitor, keyboard, mouse, and other accessories. It's also just as important that they keep you comfortable and properly supported whether you're sitting or standing. Luckily, there are plenty of great gaming desks available in 2024.

Our list of the best gaming desks runs the gamut from feature-packed models aimed specifically at hardcore gamers, eSports players, and content creators, to streamlined models that are perfect for gaming and home office work alike. You'll find picks for traditional desks, ultra-wide models, standing desks, and even L-shaped options, all from a range of prices. Many even offer optional features like cable management, headphone mounts, monitor arms, drawers, RGB lighting, and more. Whatever kind of gaming desk you're looking for during Prime Day this year, we've got you covered.

Be sure to check out our list of the best gaming chairs if you're looking to pair your desk with a new seat, and our lists of the best keyboards, gaming mice, headsets, and controllers for PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch for more gear recommendations to round out your setup.

What to look for in a gaming desk

The best gaming desk will offer you plenty of space for all your gaming gear: from monitor and keyboard to mouse, speakers, headset stand, and any other accessories you want to have in your gaming setup. Whether you have a PC or use a PS5 or Xbox Series X at your desk, we're talking about tech you've probably spent hundreds, if not thousands of dollars on, so you want to make sure your gaming desk is sturdy enough to support all that heavy equipment and has the right cable management options to keep it all nice and organized. It's important to consider the desk's frame and what material it's made of--can the legs support potentially hundreds of pounds of weight? If you're buying a standard office desk rather than a dedicated gaming desk, keep an eye out for ones with adjustable foot pads that will ensure the desk is stable.

Aesthetics matter too. Do you prefer a wooden desk, or is a modern metal desk more your style? The desk surface is also an important consideration--a smooth gaming surface is important. A tempered glass surface is an especially sleek option. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, you'll want to keep comfort in mind, making sure there's enough room under the desk for your knees and legs. An adjustable desk that can be raised or lowered is great for ensuring your desk is at the proper ergonomic height, though height adjustment options are often more expensive.

Different types of gaming desks

It's important to know how you want to use your desk too, depending on your specific gaming needs--are you looking for a simple one-monitor gaming setup, or are you planning to have multiple monitors and a heavy PC tower on top of it as well? There are standard gaming desks, ultrawide ones, and curved desks that offer varying amounts of desk space and weight capabilities--some even help you store your gaming gear. L-shaped gaming desks are popular as well--some people even buy two to set up a massive U-shaped desk area. Regular computer desks can work great for gaming too and can help lower your cost. And if you're someone who works from home full-time, a standing desk is worth considering to help you take more standing breaks throughout the day. In this guide, we've tried to include a variety of options to help you find the best gaming desk for you.

And if you're looking to get into PC gaming, we've got more guides to help make the process easier, especially if you're looking to build your own gaming PC. For affordable options, we've rounded up the best budget gaming monitors and cheap gaming chairs to get your setup looking right, along with all the best gaming keyboards, gaming laptops, and VR headsets to help you create the best machine to complement your desk setup. Plus, check out the best gaming chairs for ergonomic options to pair with your desk along with the best webcams and capture cards if you're looking to start streaming.

If you're looking for something more robust and more like furniture for the home office/mancave (and can afford it), the Zuri Furniture desks are great, sturdy, long-term investments and have some nice features, spacious desktops too and optional left or right "returns" for the L-shape if you want it. matching hutches, credenzas and such too. It really is a step up over the Bush Furniture stuff. Also, for what it's worth, not that I tend to use it much myself, but the "keyboard drawer" that came on the thing is the sturdiest one I've ever seen, not even the slightest wiggle, etc.

I encourage those gaming to try and move towards reclining chairs with lumber and proper neck support. If possible move towards 'recliners' like https://www.healthguideline.net/2020/10/best-recliner-for-back-pain.html these. When gamers sit still in a chair for hours and hours on end, it is so bad for your health. That means little when your 14, but by the time your 40 you will have many severe injuries. And having your feet dangle for hours, over days, over years causes so many PVD problems.

Get a good recliner, with lumbar support or a proper lumbar pillow and or neck/lumbar add on. Put your monitor(s) on a swivel arm that can be moved out of the way. You can mount a solid flat surface for your mouse on either arm with hook and loop. And rest keyboard on lap, pillow, or swing arm as well. A level end table to your left or right will be plenty for storage. You can keep a separate desk for work, or bills, etc.

Oh also try one of these, https://www.amazon.com/Zone-Tech-Cooling-Seat-Cushion or something similar. It keeps your butt and back cool, hardly makes any noise, and easy to add to chairs, recliners and cars. Gets rid of that swamp ass.

Ok, the gaming desks that are not really gaming desks are looking old-fashioned, and the gaming desks that are gaming desks look like a toy for children, like the shoes that are blinking when they are running. I'm not really impressed. The best desks you get at your local Carpenter, you can give him the exact Measurements and they choose too stable materials. Most gaming desks are too expensive, in some kind I think that they think that GAMING is something special. You need a special table, special equipment, and special food, or you aren't a gamer. **** this development. Gaming is the most beautiful hobby in the world, but you have not been something extraordinary with it for a long time, not even if you are a Youtuber or a streamer. It's a job like any other.

Wow, that’s a lot of desks. I wouldn’t even call half of them gaming desks since they could be used for just about anything; which is something I’m now considering. Could hang all my bling on the controller stand and the cup holder is a nice touch too.
