Best Nintendo Switch Grips In 2023

From Satisfye to Hori, these Switch Joy-Con grip cases and controllers make handheld play a much more pleasant experience.

If you regularly play your Nintendo Switch in handheld mode, the absolute best accessory you can buy is a detachable grip. Though the Switch is one of Nintendo's best gaming consoles ever, not everyone finds the default form factor very comfortable--especially when playing for hours in a row. Thankfully, there are third-party accessories that drastically improve the Nintendo Switch's ergonomics. We've rounded up a handful of the best Nintendo Switch grips available in 2023.

Nintendo Switch grips come in all shapes and sizes. Some are designed exclusively for the regular Switch or Switch OLED, while others, like the stellar Satisfye ZenGrip Pro, are compatible with both models. Naturally, the significantly smaller Switch Lite requires its own separate grip, but there are great options for the handheld-only Switch, too.

In addition to detachable grips that enhance your experience holding the Joy-Con controllers, there are accessories that completely replace the Joy-Cons while also functioning as ergonomic grips. Our favorite option in 2023 is still Hori's Split Pad, but now there are two different models: the Split Pad Pro and Split Pad Compact.

Check out all of the best Switch grips below. For more recommendations for making you Switch gaming experience better, take a look at our roundup of the best Nintendo Switch controllers.

Satisfye grips are junk. I've used Satisfye since 2020. I've had three of their grips. Every single one falls apart. The rubber part on the handles is always too large for the plastic frame, so there's a gap inside and the glue doesn't hold since the whole inside of the rubber part can't touch the plastic frame. The rubber parts flop around and are annoying while using the Switch, and soon the rubber parts start breaking off altogether until they fall off. I've contacted Satisfye about the problem, but they refuse to repair or replace them. They tell me just to glue them back together. But the glue can't connect the rubber pieces to the plastic frame because the only place the parts touch each other is around the rim, not on the majority of the inside of the rubber piece. They're defective. They're making the rubber pieces too large for the frame, so glue cannot connect the parts to hold them together since there's a large gap inside.

If you haven't tried the grips that can be found on eBay you are doing yourself a disservice. Sure it sucks waiting for things to be shipped from China (and I'm sure people are worried about CoV). However, I have gotten 2 sets where they not only provide better grip for your palms but also extended the triggers. These in my opinion are the best you can get right now. There is also a newer version of these same ones that are equally as good.

I bought the Satisfye grip when it released, actually pre-ordered. It is so comfortable. My hands no longer feel cramped in hand held mode. I can now play longer game sessions without any hand fatigue. Its worth every dollar.

Honestly, I don't get what the fuss is about - is not like that GameBoy, GameGear, DS, or PSP (handhelds I've had) are remotely ergonomic or comfortable. The only issue I have with portable Switch is its heft (which these gadgets won't help and also relates to its benefits such as bigger screen and more horsepower)
