Beyond: Two Souls' David Cage first game developer to receive France's highest honor
French developer David Cage will receive the Legion of Honour for his work in the video game industry.
The head Quantic Dream David Cage will be the first game developer to receive the Legion of Honour, France's highest decoration.
French Minister Delegate with responsibility for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, Innovation and the Digital Economy, Fleur Pellerin, will present the medal to cage on March 14.
Cage is known for his highly cinematic, character and story driven games. Released last year, PlayStation 3 exclusive Beyond: Two Souls motion captured performances by actors Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe. GameSpot's review found that the game was superb, and we recently reported that it sold a million copies last year.
France has honored game designers before by awarding Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto, Ubisoft's Michel Ancel, and others with the Order of Arts and Letters, but Cage will be the first developer to receive the Legion of Honour.
