Beyond: Two Souls launching October 8

Release date, Spider-Man actor Willem Dafoe confirmed for Quantic Dream's upcoming PlayStation 3-exclusive.

Beyond: Two Souls will launch October 8 exclusively for PlayStation 3, Sony announced today. The game was previously expected to release sometime in 2013.

In addition, Sony revealed that Spider-Man and Platoon actor Willem Dafoe will star in the game as Nathan Dawkins, a government scientist working with main character Jodie Holmes, played by Ellen Page (Juno, Inception).

Dafoe's work on Beyond: Two Souls is not much of a surprise. He was linked to the game shortly after the project was announced during the 2012 Electronic Entertainment Expo last June.

Sony also today announced preorder bonuses for Beyond: Two Souls. Those who reserve the game at GameStop (or EB Games in Canada) will receive an "exclusive" 30-minute playable scene. More details on this will be made available at a later date.

On top of that, all who preorder the game will receive an automatic upgrade to the Beyond: Two Souls Special Edition. This includes a steelbook packaging, a behind-the-scenes video feature, the game's soundtrack, a PS3 dynamic theme, and a PlayStation Network avatar bundle.

Most games these days emphasize and accentuate that they bring choice and a personalized, customized play experience to the table, but I have yet to see a game fully realize it's promises of choice. There are always a handful of "choices" and they're just herding you into one of these predetermined outcomes. I expect to be disappointed, but it will probably still be a good story.

**** yes! i thought this was gonna be a PS4 exclusive but it's seen that once again the ps3 still gets more exclusives to play

but i hope this game won't be identical to heavy rain, i would like more less on rails actions and some scenes you need to actually aim instead of mashing buttons

@thequickshooter @RustedTruck650 some people just don't like Microsoft and its business ethics. With the amount if money someone wastes every year with paying for xboxlive, I can buy more games like this one. #1 reason why not to get an xbox360.

@thequickshooter @RustedTruck650 Fortunately for the PS3, Bungie broke the " only on xbox" trend by saying they're releasing Destiny on PS3; so I don't see many exclusives on the Xbox360 anymore...

This is the thing that strikes me as odd. I know both sides of the arguments when it comes to Xbox vs PS3, and I don't really care about that shit because in the end I know I'm more satisfied with the PS3 while others will enjoy the 360 more. The weird thing is that some people like the 360 but all they do is play the multiplatforms.

I play my PS3 for all the glorious exclusives.

Willem Dafoe is amazing. I know some people are haters on David Cage but those were real actors with very real looking emotions on their faces. If they can put that into the game & combine it with compelling gameplay - I'm in!

@fobbs69 So we are to forget about Metal Gear, Halo, Gears of War, Shadow of the Colossus, Zelda Ocarina of Time, Mass Effect and Uncharted?..
You should never EVER say that a specific company "makes the best games ever", cause that is just being a fanboy with a narrow mind.
I can agree, that Quantic are quite artistic and fresh and they make some real quality work, but to say they beat all else and one has no taste if not one agrees with your fanboyism..
