Black Desert Online Is Adding Cross-Play Support

Now it's even more massively multiplayer.

Black Desert Online is already an immensely popular MMO, and its collectible community is about to be united thanks to cross-play support on Xbox One and PS4.

The feature will be implemented on March 4, letting players on the two consoles party up and adventure together for the first time. Black Desert Online officially launched for both consoles last year, but the two platforms were kept restricted, as is the case with most games on Xbox One and PS4.

The PC version will still be separate from the other two. However, the game is quite popular on consoles, so it shouldn't be difficult to find friends across any platform.

The game includes a huge number of classes, including multiple melee-focused characters like Berserker and Striker, as well as the ranged Archer. Updates come on a regular basis, including special events that provide you with weapons and equipment. The game received a "Remastered" version in 2018, giving it a visual overhaul. We had mixed feelings on the game back in 2016, with Kevin VanOrd finding its combat satisfying but its interface messy in GameSpot's Black Desert Online review.

Black Desert Online also has a mobile version called Black Desert Online Mobile. Unlike its big siblings, the mobile version is free, and it features very similar features and gameplay. It also includes multiple classes, including Giant, Witch, and Ranger, each with their own gameplay styles, and there are numerous customization options to create your ideal character.
