Black Friday here in the UK is absolute trash and I wish it would go away. they may take 10% off and that's about it, amazon basically just sell the stuff nobody wants to buy.

If there were 3 things I'd love to hand back to the US it would be Mcdonalds, Starbucks and Black Friday.

As someone mentioned below, we have no Thanksgiving so Black Friday is pretty irrelevant here. It was pretty big here when it hit 2 years ago but already by last year I think the vast majority of people here just saw it as a shameless mess that just meant hordes of low-life camping outside electrical shops so they could be first to kick people out of the way just to save £100 on a £600 tv that they wouldn't have even considered buying when it was £600.

As for Mcdonalds and Starbucks, the less said about those the better.

Thanks US - we're happy to keep Friends, Cheers, The Wire and Breaking Bad and a few other bits, but you can keep those 3.

@mpl911: LOL I have to agree with 2 McDonalds is OK though, they have good coffee for cheap and the egg muffin or sausage muffin is yummy, well here in the US they do. Starbucks is crap and I stay home on Black Friday and avoid the stores like Ebola. I do enjoy watching the You Tube videos of the stupid sheep fighting over shoes and TVs. In a way I feel sorry for them too, so easily fooled into the hype of it all.

@mpl911: 100% agreed. Though the US has given us much more than that... And also there's a LOT more than just those three I'd like to send back!

@mickpunx: I did. For me, it was a day 1 purchase (I actually grabbed one of the first boxes to arrive in my country without waiting for shipment to reach the store).

TLDR: If you have a big 4K TV then yes! Otherwise... probably no.

Ever since I moved my PS4 to my PC (the 50" 4K TV sitting on the desk as a PC's third monitor) I started to notice a lot of imperfections in PS4's visuals, checkerboard rendering of translucent surfaces in a lot of games is the main culprit but there's a lot of other smaller things. I didn't notice this stuff from TV viewing distance but sitting 3-4 ft from 50" screen is a whole different story, rare games like The Order still looks good, but even Uncharted shows a lot of distracting artifacts.

On Pro it looks good again. Not as sharp as native 4K games maxed out on PC (not that I expect it for roughly 1/10th the price), but still impressive.Tried it in 1080p

Tried it in 1080p and it's not that different from the standard experience. Some titles benefit from higher framerate, but this additional power is (and will be) mostly used for supersampling. While it's an effective AA solution, it doesn't change much in terms of visuals, especially in the games that already have decent AA. As for enhanced effects or 60 FPS - I don't think it will happen often, it's much easier to downsample 4K version than to dedicate additional resources to make separate 1080p presets.

@mickpunx: You're welcome.

Sony actually did a right move by positioning Pro as a 4K machine thus avoiding unnecessary fragmentation, but they somewhat failed to communicate that idea to the customers creating confusion in terms of what to expect from Pro.

FYI: Couple of great deals on new PS4 slim 500gb on ebay shop: just £189 with either GTAV or Lego Star Wars. Best I've seen so far: doubt it'll get much lower than sub-£200...
