Blade Runner Sequel Adds James Bond, Guardians of the Galaxy Actor
Dave Bautista comes aboard the 2018 action movie.
Following the news last week that House of Cards star Robin Wright was joining the untitled Blade Runner sequel, more casting details have been confirmed. Deadline reports that Spectre and Guardians of the Galaxy actor Dave Bautista, also a former professional wrestler, has come aboard the sequel.

As is the case for Wright, there is no word yet on what role Bautista will play in the movie, which also stars Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford; he again plays the role of Rick Deckard. Bautista is also set to reprise the character Drax for 2017's Guardians of the Galaxy 2.
Directing the new Blade Runner film is Denis Villeneuve (Sicario) from a script written by original Blade Runner co-writer Hampton Fancher and Michael Green (Alien: Covenant, Smallville). Filming is scheduled to begin in July.
Blade Runner was based on Philip K. Dick's 1968 dystopian novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? There is no word yet on what the story will be for the sequel, but the movie, produced by original Blade Runner director Ridley Scott, will take place "several decades" after the events of the first one. It is scheduled to open in January 2018.
