I’d rather buy a PS5 and have no games to play than patronize Blizzard, a company that supports Chinese death camps.

Nothing but cashgrabby scamfestivals in this company's future. Their focus on mobile says it all and isn't about gaming, but about $$$ and absolutely nothing else. WoW is a dead horse beaten to paste on the sidewalk, fed to kindergarteners during arts & crafts and then collected from the school toilets after they pass it. Diablo 4 will no doubt have some form of rude monetization attempt built into it....perhaps not quite as bad as that real money auction house + impossible drop rates racket (because really, what could possibly have been a more insultingly obvious grift than that was?)....but it'll be there nonetheless. Overwatch...meh...given their history of never balancing anything and seemingly using balancing issues to perpetuate people playing the game by having a rotating flavor of the month, I've avoided it like the plague. The company has fallen far if you ask me, no amount of "yeah but profits" changes it and it all comes down to them prioritizing profits over gaming and gamers. It's the same story all across the industry. The games-as-perpetual-income-streams paradigm needs to die.

I uninstalled Overwatch last night. Tired of how unbalanced the game is, how it's going to be a full year before we see any new content, and, as Davillain noted, Blizzard just plain sucks these days. I redownloaded Halo instead.

I hear FF14 has a very generous free trial mode. Maybe I'll look into that.

@Barighm: Install Rogue Company and dominate there for a few days... It has its charms I got a weekend out of it, like Paladins, Battleborn, and others.

@Barighm: I would also HIGHLY recommend Phantasy Star Online 2. A fantastic game with loads of content right out of the gate (about 8 years worth) with a graphics engine refresh and full new content coming to it this year.

Funny you mention Halo, just redownloaded MCC myself as well about a week ago, it has been a blast

@Barighm: I thoroughly enjoyed my time with FF14, but I will warn you that there's a heavy feel of scamminess to the account set-up systems and trying to get it to let me quit and cancel once I'd had enough was thoroughly annoying. It really seemed to be set up to prevent you from succeeding in stopping the monthly fee.

@Barighm: yeah, their decisions to favor Overwatch 2 has pretty much killed the franchise and eSports league/teams. Their best hopes are when the trailer for 2 drops people that were on the hype train for the originals release jump back on from nostalgia.

Not gonna bother with BlizzCon as I don't like how Blizz has been acting up lately and not in a good way.
