Where to find the Secret Garden in Blue Prince

The Secret Garden can only be unlocked once you have the aptly named Secret Garden Key. Also, you need to be in a specific section of the manor just to get the key to work. Our guide has a step by step breakdown of every detail that you're likely to encounter during your playthroughs.

Note: By default, the Secret Garden has a special effect that causes it to spread food to other rooms of the house. This is a great way to replenish your steps in each run.

Where to find the Secret Garden Key?

The Secret Garden Key in Blue Prince, just like most other items in the game, has a totally random location. Oh, and you're not always guaranteed to find it in every run. In our experience, we've seen it a few times in the following areas/instances:

• Billiards Room - One of the potential rewards from the Billiards/Darts Puzzle.
• Music Room - While unrelated to the Music Room Puzzle itself, the key is a random reward that you can get from this room.
• Locksmith - Purchase the Special Key option and you might acquire the Secret Garden Key.
• Containers and dirt piles - Very rarely, you might obtain the Secret Garden Key from trunks/chests that you open and from dirt piles that you dig with your Shovel.

How to unlock the room to the Secret Garden?

Assuming you've already found the Secret Garden Key, then you'll have a shot at unlocking the Secret Garden in Blue Prince. Here's a quick summary:

• You must be in a room with a door that leads to the westernmost or easternmost column of the manor--i.e. either column 1 or column 5.
• The door must be locked by default. Locked doors are more common as you reach the higher ranks/rows.
• Here are some examples:
  • If you're in column 1--i.e. leftmost column--you need a locked door that leads north.
  • If you're in column 2, you need a locked door that leads west.
  • If you're in column 4, you need a locked door that leads east.
  • If you're in column 5--i.e. rightmost column--you need a locked door that leads north.

If you encounter a locked door, you should see the Special Key option. Select it and choose the Secret Garden Key. If you meet the above requirements, that door will lead to the Secret Garden itself.

How to solve the Secret Garden puzzle?

The Secret Garden actually has several interesting facets, including a breakable wall. For now, though, you should just focus on the wind vane in the corner. Here's what you need to do:

• Rotate the valves at the left and right-hand sides until they're both pointing west--i.e. toward the brick wall/moon statuette at the end.
• This causes the statuette on the niche to move, revealing a lever.
• Pull the lever to open the western Antechamber door.

Unlike some other puzzles in the Manor, the lever will remain revealed in future runs if you draft the Secret Garden again. But it will need to be pulled each time you want to open the western Antechamber door.

And that's it, you've successfully completed the Secret Garden puzzle in Blue Prince. This grants you entry to the room near the very end of the manor itself. Of course, you still need to make your way there through some careful drafting. Don't forget that there are other methods to reach the Antechamber as well. Lastly, if you want to discover another secret, you can try to find something that can destroy weakened walls.
