Bowser's Monstrous Form Is Unleashed In New Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury Trailer

A new, large level and a clash of titans awaits in the new content for the Nintendo Switch port.

The latest trailer for Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury has teased what the Switch-exclusive content of the Wii U port will contain, including a gigantic Bowser. Super Mario 3D World is being ported to the Nintendo Switch like many other Wii U games before it, but Bowser's Fury is an entirely new portion of the game that will seemingly introduce you to a large, open-ended level with numerous platforming challenges to explore.

At some point it seems Bowser and his uncontrollable new power arrives to spoil the party, forcing Mario to team up with Bowser Jr. To take him down. If you ever hope to see a colossal kaiju-like battle between Bowser and Cat Mario, this latest trailer has you covered.

Now Playing: Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury - A Bigger Badder Bowser Trailer

It's unclear what the scope and size of Bowser's Fury is and just how expansive the level on show is, but it certainly looks more explorable than most of 3D World's traditional stages.

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury launches on 12 February for Nintendo Switch, alongside a brand new Mario-themed Switch console with a red base and multi-coloured JoyCon. You can get stock alerts for the new model with out handy Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury preorder guide.

aint nobody got time for all time frustrating difficult platforming. Gave that ish up back in the 80s n 90s. How about evolve NINTENDO, stop staying on the "dark souls punishing factor" track.

@owizeisme1: Just curious what games in the Mario series you found overly difficult. The only ones that immediately come to mind, where I felt they sacrificed fun in the name of difficulty, were a few levels in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island on the SNES, and some of the timed challenges in Super Mario Sunshine. I too do not enjoy games that are so difficult it stops being fun. I am not trying to repeat levels/sections/bosses more than 20 times. But I don't think the Mario series crosses this line, with the exception of a few endgame challenges.

@owizeisme1: Mario platformers have never been hard except for Post story levels and even then that's the very last thing you can do in the game.

In other words:

Git gud

So Giga Koopa Vs Super Saiyan Lion Mario.

Maybe the Mario games have officially jumped the shark now.

@dragonsama:

Except this is par the course for Mario weirdness.

And... this isn't even remotely close to being Mario's most bizarre adventures.

@dragonsama: I don't know, I have had lots of fun with the more recent entries. My favorite Mario titles are: Super Mario Galaxy 2, Super Mario World, and New Super Luigi U. And while not my favorite, Odyssey felt innovative & fresh, taking cues from the "bigger level-design containing more challenges" that Jak and Daxter pioneered (which itself iterated on Super Mario 64). My point is, I don't think the series has peaked & is going downhill. I know some of the more recent entries (like 3D World) are rereleases, but the addition of multiplayer to the series has been huge, and is a blast to play with other people (though you have to warn them, New Super Mario Bros multiplayer feels DESIGNED to make you angry at the people you're playing with).
