Brood War Competition
Blizzard will sponsor a major online competition with $20,000 in prizes.
In an effort to increase attention already being paid to the release of Blizzard's Starcraft expansion, Brood War, Battle.Net is hosting an online competition with US$20,000 in cash and prizes to the top players. The top 16 players will qualify for the finals and will then play for a chance to advance to the World Championships.
Season One starts January 8 at 12:01 am and lasts until March 31, with finals beginning on April 1. Season Two follows from April 1 to June 30, with finals beginning July 1. The World Championships are scheduled to begin August 1 with a $10,000 grand prize.
