The ongoing Call of Duty: Black Ops III multiplayer beta on PlayStation 4 is expanding with new maps, modes, and more. Treyarch has announced that, starting August 21 at 10 AM PDT / 1 PM EDT, the beta will introduce the following new content (via CharlieIntel):

  • New mode: Uplink (bringing total number of modes to eight)
  • New map: Stronghold (bringing total number of maps to four)
  • New level cap: 34 (lets you unlock new items such as the VMP SMG, Reaper Specialist, Power Core scorestreak, and the H.A.T.R. scorestreak)

According to Treyarch senior design director David Vonderhaar, less than 10 percent of Black Ops III multiplayer beta players had reached the current level cap as of 10 PM PDT on August 20.

That the Black Ops III multiplayer is expanding with new content is not much of surprise. Before the beta even launched, Treyarch listed it as having "7+ maps" and "3+ modes," suggesting more would be added.
