Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare's Zombie Mode Looks Like a Crazy '80s Mess

Zombies modes have been main features in the last several Call of Duty games, and this year's installment is no different. Activision today unveiled Infinite Warfare's horde mode, called Zombies in Spaceland, and it looks crazy.

The reveal trailer gives a glimpse of what we can expect from the mode, and this first look shows a mode with a very different tone than Zombies modes in the past. Gone is the over-the-top sci-fi story of the Black Ops series; this year's is leaning heavily into '80s-style wackiness. Complete with clowns, legwarmers, and a dude named Poindexter, Zombies in Spaceland is shaping up to be quite a change from older Zombies modes. Take a look at the trailer below.

This divergence from the Zombies canon makes sense, as Black Ops developer Treyarch will wrap up the long-running Zombies mode from that series later this year, but it's still pretty surprising to see developer Infinity Ward shake things up this much. Nonetheless, it looks like it'll be pretty fun to get zombies dancing with boombox bombs, or ride around on a roller coaster through a shooting gallery.

As for Infinite Warfare, the game launches on November 4 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. If you buy the special editions of the game, you'll get a remastered version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, as well.
