Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Reveal Event In Warzone -- Start Time And How To Play

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III's reveal is taking place inside Call of Duty: Warzone today, August 17--and we know what to expect as well as exactly when you need to be in the game to participate. Here's the Modern Warfare III reveal start time so you can experience the Shadow Siege event live. Double XP in Warzone will begin on August 17 at 9:30 AM PT / 12:30 PM ET, just before the event--Shadow Siege--begins at 10:30 AM PT / 1:30 PM ET.

What to expect

Activision isn't giving much away, saying specifics are "shrouded in secrecy," but the developer shared a message from the fictional Commander Phillip Graves from Modern Warfare II to set things up: "This is an airborne to ground assault of the Konni-occupied Zaya Observatory."

As part of the event, players will join Shadow Company, fight against Konni forces, and secure chemical weapons "before it's too late." There are "numerous rewards" up for grabs in the event. The item rewards include a new base weapon, which will be available in Warzone and Modern Warfare II right away.

In other news, Activision has confirmed that most of your purchases, Operators, and even weapon levels will carry forward to Modern Warfare III when it launches on November 10.

Microsoft is in the process of trying to buy Activision Blizzard and the Call of Duty series, but the deal isn't done yet. And even if it does close, Call of Duty is staying on PlayStation for at least the next decade.
