Call Of Duty: WW2 Release Date, First Details, And Beta Revealed

Call of Duty: WWII is launching on November 3 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

The release date was revealed alongside a full trailer during a worldwide reveal livestream. This confirms details that leaked earlier this week.

This year's entry in the shooter franchise follows the US 1st Infantry Division as they fight their way through the European theater of the war. Missions include the D-Day invasion of Normandy and Battle of the Bulge.

Although you primarily play as the young, inexperienced Private Daniels in the single-player, there will also be a mission that casts you as a woman fighting in the French resistance.

A full multiplayer reveal is slated for E3 in June, but for now we know just a few details. As for co-op, little was shared, but it will apparently take the form of "a new and original story" featuring zombies.

Also from the leaks, Activision confirmed that a beta will be available ahead of launch, but there isn't a date yet. Finally, Transformers actor Josh Duhamel is confirmed to appear in Call of Duty: WWII as Technical Sergeant William Pierson, a 34-year-old from Oklahoma.

The Pro Edition that surfaced in leaks will be exclusive to GameStop, at least in the US, and will cost $100. It comes with the game, a steelbook case, the season pass, and "additional bonus content."

@Fantomass: hahaha dummy. im actually not a guy of color. you ASSumed i was a guy of color because i despise racism of any form. that just shows your ignorance, and the limitations of your brain. also, since you obviously dont know, your occupation, or the amount of education you have, does not automatically mean you have a higher IQ than anyone else. i would say you have to be reasonably intelligent to be a "masters engineer" as you say, but it means more than anything that you simply have much more ambition than most other people, and that you completed the required education to acquire such a job. dont forget, there are many people out there who have never even desired to go through a massive amount of higher education, like me, that still have a very high IQ, like me. more education may mean more knowledge, but more education doesnt make you any smarter. youre either born with a high IQ or youre not. when i was in school, i was actually in "AG" class, which stands for academically gifted, throughout my tenure. however, unlike you apparently feel, i dont think because i may be smarter than some random person, that i am in any way "superior" to any random person. we are all equally human and equally important in this world. things like job title or social status mean NOTHING to me. dont flatter yourself because of your "job" junior.

I think Call of Duty should make WW2 in perspective of Germans, French or even Russian army all-out; showing their strengths and struggle. Get the approval from German/French/Russia upon creating the game. That would be great & something refreshing altogether. It's pretty boring show the 'supremacy' of American army from day 1 until now.

@solatron: The French were run over in a few days as they had an army fit for WWI, wouldn't make much of game play losing no matter what you do, would it? The Russians and Germans we saw in the original CoD. And why would a game producer have to ask countries for permissions to make games?

@duckofdeath: the permission obtained is to ensure they get the 'right' / 'realistic' history just like how the American developers did for any WW2-related games from American perspectives.

Yeah true, the storyline will lead to the end of those armies but at least it shows some struggle from other nations (e.g. Germans, Russians, etc)

@solatron: that would be a really fresh experience. Could play as a Nazi soldier being ordered to do unspeakable things and witnessing atrocities but no way to back out. They would be brave to do it but if done right could be fantastic.

@solatron: this would be retarded. I would never touch a game when main thing would be playing as wermacht soldier. This would be glorifying germans who murdered lots of innocent people during their murderous run through Europe. I dont mind playing as axis in mp but to dedicate the whole game for this scum? @Karmazyn: why not? it would be interesting to understand their struggle even we know some of their evil deeds. playing them is not glorifying them in any manner. Same goes for the rest of us, we play COD, etc we never glorify american armies at all.

American armies might also did unspeakable things (killing innocents) which the world did not know. because often american armies are portrayed as the 'only good guys' in this world, thanks to the huge established american media.

@solatron: bottom line is SHG is an American developer. if you dont like the fact that theyre making the game from an American perspective then you have every right not to buy it. maybe some non American developer should step up and make a quality WW2 shooter from a different perspective, then you can play that instead.

@Karmazyn: while I can see your point, there was a large contingent of the German army that plotted to kill Hitler and seek refuge with the Allied forces (my history is pretty bad, apologies for lack of accuracy). It would be a big change if a new IP followed a German officer in that regard.

People should stop making themselves look silly and quit talking about how they aren't going to buy the game or they are so tired of the CoD franchise. You know they are going to buy the game, even if its at a discounted price (I do that anyway, even if the game is good).

The only problem I have with this game is that its freaking ww2 all over again. Its such an overdone war, and to many ww2 video games already exist for it. Need more ww3 games with various plots I think. Much more imagination is involved at least.
