Resident Evil publisher Capcom enjoyed a healthy first six months of its fiscal year. The company reported earnings today for the six-month period ended September 30, revealing profits surged 355 percent to ¥4.125 billion ($51.3 million) on revenue of ¥45.538 billion ($570 million). That figure is up 55.7 percent from the same period a year ago.
Capcom called out Resident Evil 6 and Dragon's Dogma in its earnings report, reiterating that the former has shipped 4.5 million units worldwide as of October 4. Additionally, the company said Dragon's Dogma has benefited from popularity that is "exceeding expectations" and reiterated that the role-playing game has shipped over one million units.
Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City may not have won over critics, but the game continues to see a "steady growth" in sales, Capcom said. Further, downloadable content for the game has enjoyed "stable popularity," the company said, with these offering contributing to improved profit figures.
In the social game space, Capcom said Resident Evil: Outbreak Survive has now amassed more than 2 million registered members. Additionally, the firm touted Minna to Monhan Card Master as a boon, saying that game has been "steadily gaining" new users.
