Captain America: Civil War Director On Why the Film is a "Love Story"
"It becomes a very explosive."
If one thing is clear from the trailers for the upcoming Captain America: Civil War, it's that the emotional content will be as strong as the action. Now co-director Joe Russo has revealed why he sees the film as far more than just a superhero slugfest.

In a new interview with Empire, Russo spoke about the Civil War's central relationship. "What’s fascinating about the Cap-Bucky story is it’s a love story," he said. "These are two guys who grew up together, and so they have that same emotional connection to each other as brothers would, and even more so because Bucky was all Steve had growing up."
Russo also addressed the issue of whether Bucky--aka The Winter Soldier--could really be considered one of the good guys. "Is he good or is he bad?” he said. "Steve has to answer that question for himself, and there are other characters in the movie who hold the opposite point of view. It becomes a very explosive. It incites a lot of conflict."
Russo and his directing brother Anthony have been posting regular videos on their Facebook page as they work on the final stages of the movie. In the latest clip, the pair speak to star "Chris Evans" after he watches Civil War for the first time. Er, sort of. Check it out below:
Captain America: Civil War also stars Robert Downey, Jr., Anthony Mackie, Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Olsen, and Jeremy Renner. It hits cinemas on May 6, 2016.
