Catch Up On Invincible's Comic Run With These New Trade Paperback Editions
Plus, check out other editions of the comic for those who don't feel like waiting for Invincible Season 4 to see what happens next.
The third season of the Invincible animated series recently wrapped up, and if history is any indicator, it looks like it's going to be a long wait for season four. The good news is that you can shortcut that wait right now with the comics series. There are numerous versions of the comic series available, but the latest is the Invincible Trade Paperback New Editions. These reprints of the original trade paperback releases are slightly smaller and feature new cover art. So far, eight Invincible Trade Paperback New Edition volumes have been released and are available now at Amazon, which cover the events seen up through Season 2, and several more are on the way later this year that will almost catch up to where the TV series left off in Season 3. Invincible Volume 9 releases May 20, followed by Volume 10 on July 15, Volume 11 on September 16, and Volume 12 on November 18. You can preorder the upcoming volumes at Amazon.

In case you haven't seen it yet, Invincible follows Mark Grayson, the son of the Superman-like protector Omni-Man. When Mark's own superpowers finally kick in, he decides to follow in his father's steps and he becomes a new superhero, Invincible. However, he soon discovers his father is hiding a sinister past. Throw in teenage romance, a growing rogue's gallery, and homework, and Invincible is a grounded look at modern superheroes that's worth reading.
Artist Cory Walker established the look of Invincible with his first run on the series, eventually handing the reigns to Ryan Ottley who helped elevate the comics to new and often brutal heights. Meanwhile, Walking Dead co-creator Robert Kirkman's writing helped each issue feel real, while also regularly throwing in new twists along the way to keep things fresh.

While the new trade paperback reprint will eventually cover events beyond what the TV series has adapted, those who want to get right to the brutality of what we'll see in season four and beyond may want to skip these new editions and to jump to at least issue #80 of the comic books, and there are a few options for doing so.
The most comprehensive option is three The Invincible Compendium omnibus editions, each of which is over 1,000 pages long and combined cover the entire Invincible comics run. All three are discounted at Amazon right now. It's worth noting that these are paperback releases with a lower print grade than other editions, but if you're looking to get as many issues as possible at once, these are your best choice. If you're skipping ahead to events after seasons 1-3 of the show, you'll want to grab Invincible Compendium Volume 2 and Volume 3.

Another option is the Invincible Ultimate Collection trade paperbacks. These are smaller than the compendiums, collecting around a dozen of issues in a deluxe format per volume, and their smaller size also makes them more manageable to read. Volume 7 is where you'll want to start for Invincible season four, as it collects issues #71-84 of the comics, though there are 12 volumes in total.

Finally, you can also pick up original Invincible trade paperbacks. These are typically six-issue collections with high-quality paper and a travel-friendly format, though they're slightly larger than the new edition trade paperbacks. All 25 volumes are available at Amazon. To prepare for the next season, you can start reading from Volume 15.
