CDV cancels Galaxy Andromeda
In an effort to stem corporate losses, the German publisher cancels the game formerly known as Imperium Galactica III.
As a part of a quarterly earnings report that included a loss of 1 million euros (about $1.12 million), CDV announced that it will stop production of Galaxy Andromeda, explaining that the game's prospects for success weren't judged to be very good. The cancellation is part of a wider restructuring effort.
Galaxy Andromeda was a graphically impressive 3D space strategy game that would have allowed players to command large space ships in story-based missions. Initially developed by Philos Labs and later at Mithis Games, the game was originally scheduled for release in late 2001 or early 2002.
