Check Out Minecraft Streamer's New $4.5 Million Los Angeles Home

CaptainSparklez is living large.

Streaming star Jordan Maron, known to the millions of people who watch him play Minecraft as "CaptainSparklez," has purchased a new Los Angeles home for $4.5 million. Variety reports that the 23-year-old's new, 4,100 square-foot house sits on a hillside above Sunset Strip--and it looks amazing.

No Caption Provided

As you can see in the image above, the defining characteristic of the three-bedroom, five-bathroom abode is its glass terraces. Views (on a clear day, at least) extend to the Pacific Ocean. There is also an outdoor fireplace, infinity pool (and "party-sized spa), sunken wet bar, and a stainless steel barbecue.

Variety also reports that Maron's home is only a few thousand feet away from the $70 million, 23,000-square-foot mansion that Minecraft creator Markus "Notch" Persson bought last year.

For a closer look at Maron's new house, check out a full image gallery here. The YouTube star has more than 8.8 million YouTube subscribers.

Don't be jelly guys. He makes entertaining videos that people spend time watching, and has made a pile of cash doing so.

Just another person who makes far too much money for what they do. The world is a very sad place indeed. ):

I don't understand why millions of people find it entertaining to watch someone else play video games. I'd rather be spending my time playing them myself.

I’ve made $76,000 so far this year working online and I’m a full time student. Im using an online business opportunity I heard about and I’ve made such great money. It’s really user friendly and I’m just so happy that I found out about it.

He did not get rich by "gaming"

.

He makes money by recording and editing entertaining videos. Huge difference and the jealousy is just hilarious

Well.. I'm sure teachers are out there, rethinking telling kids: "Sitting on your butt playing games all day isn't going to get you anywhere".

@Setzera: Why, because a few people out of billions actually were able to make a living doing it? It would be like telling kids everyone is going to play in the NFL...not gonna happen. Play the percentages, chances are this isn't going to happen to you. Saying anything else is straight up lying.

@kellian1: I agree it's a rare and unusual occurrence, certainly not a career choice you can really plan. I grew up in the 90's, where I heard generalized statements like "no one can ever" attached to things like this. Hence, to see it proven wrong even just for one person (even though there's more than one), made me a bit happy from a rebellious standpoint. Nothing against teachers.

Meanwhile companies are bad guys for wanting revenue from this sort of thing on games they created. But a 23 year old can become a multimillionaire from their products and that is a okay.

@kaliskonig: I agree. People who make microphones should get royalties from the music industry also. It's not like they work to make popular entertainment from a product they have purchased. Lets expand it out and get some royalties for the automotive industry from businesses that use vehicles as well.

@kaliskonig: Its FREE advertising for the game company, and that's the exception not the norm for how much money is made by streaming games.

What's the ETA on him posting a video talking about money where he'll say something along the lines of "Money doesn't make you happy." ?

@saturatedbutter: He lives next door to Notch. Maybe he can get a cameo of him making a sad face in the background. The poor guy would probably make a mint though, and that would further complicate his problems.

@dannydouble: Have you ever seen the popular twitch streamers get subs back to back to back? They call it a sub train, and yeah, soda poppin has gotten donations as high as $50,000.

The success of the game streaming business is so incredibly shocking to me... Just don't get why people enjoy watching but more power to these guys, wish I started some sort of dedicated channel way back when.
