Check Out the New Posters for Quentin Tarantino's The Hateful Eight

Hotly anticipated western receives new character-based one-sheets

Two new posters have been released for Quentin Tarantino's upcoming western The Hateful Eight. Both posters follow the same moody, snow-bound theme, but showcase different cast members. The first features Kurt Russell and Jennifer Jason Leigh (playing 'The Hangman' and 'The Prisoner' respectively), while the second focuses on Demián Bichir as 'The Mexican'.

No Caption Provided

The Hateful Eight will be Tarantino's second western, following 2012's hit Django Unchained. It also stars Samuel L. Jackson, Bruce Dern, Tim Roth and Michael Madsen. In an interview for Deadline last year, the director described his vision for the film: "Just a bunch of nefarious guys in a room, all telling backstories that may or may not be true. Trap those guys together in a room with a blizzard outside, give them guns, and see what happens."

The movie is also notable for the fact that initially it will only be released in the 70mm film format, arriving in cinemas on Christmas Day and not hitting digital theatres until January 8, 2016.

OK this is the second movie story I've seen this week. What the heck is going on? :) Gamespot going to become a site dedicated to general entertainment instead of just games? Or is a blogger at CBS choosing the wrong drop-down when they're going to post to some entertainment site they run?

Wasn't he supposed to have canceled this project?

http://www.ew.com/article/2015/05/08/who-leaked-hateful-eight-script

He got all butt-hurt because someone in his "inner circle" leaked the script to other agents. As a result, he canceled it. I guess he didn't quite have the balls to hold to his word.

Ugh, this hack has been riding Sergio Leone's coat tails ever since his debut in the movie business. I suspect this'll be another sub-par imitation.

"The Eight Film by Quentin Tarantino".

Oooooh. Ego much? I've seen almost all of his movies, they all sucked except the original Kill Bill.

@VakarianGirl: lol thats really harsh, he got his own unique style and honestly i liked ( and even liked alot ) most of his movies, even the one's that had a "Theme" that wasnt something i was interested in.

I really liked Inglourious basterds, Brad Pitt and Christoph Waltz were amazing in that movie ( honestly most of the actors were as well ) and the idea behind it and the way he brought it to the screen was very well made, honestly its a movie i will never forget.

P.S He got more then enough good reasons to have a big Ego, he is very good at what he does and he makes loads of $$$ out of it and thats a fact.

@VakarianGirl: They all sucked objectively because you say so, or do they all suck in that fantasy world you live in? Because I can't think of one of his movies that wasn't generally well received by a large portion of the audience and critics. In that context, I don't think you alone (and a few other) can weild the quality hammer so arrogantly. It's your opinion, true, but you could use a less general tone, for example "I consider Bioware a huge asshole that crapped all over my expectations." I can't just say Bioware sucks giant donkey balls.

@VakarianGirl: Why is it egotistical to put "The Eighth Film by Quentin Tarantino" on the poster? If you count Kill Bill as one film, which he does it is his eighth feature film. Atleast he's not like Hitchcock who used to put things like "James Stewart, Kim Novak in Alfred Hitchcock's masterpiece Vertigo" on his posters.

@pointingmonkey @VakarianGirl: What makes you think either of them designed the posters themselves and not a marketing firm like, oh I don't know, every film.

@pongley: The Eighth Film by Quentin Tarantino was certainly something that Tarantino requested by on the poster. I have a copy of the Kill Bill script, which has a cover written in his own handwriting saying "The 4th Film Written and Directed by Quentin Tarantino" As for Alfred Hitchcock, he had as much control over his films as George Lucas did with Star Wars after Episode IV. So most probably had control over what went on the posters.

I don't feel that either were egotistical. The Hateful Eight is Tarantino's eighth film, if you count Kill Bill as one film and Vertigo is a masterpiece.

Sounds good, is it gonna be open world? I don't think it'll be as good as RDR, but that's okay. Cool to see a new western game.

@capocrimeboss: Movie games though are often rushed. I hope GAMEspot shows some screenshots of this GAME soon.

@Innos007666: They're trying to be funny about GameSpot covering movies. I don't think they realize that big websites writing about games isn't really sustainable, and that material needs to be supplemented with things like this to reach a wider audience. But, I guess it is hard navigating around the, like, two movie related posts on this website's homepage at any given time, and it'd probably be best if they just shut the whole thing down instead.
