Producer and alternative music composer Chris Vrenna will furnish the music for Area 51, Midway's upcoming PS2 and Xbox first-person shooter.

According to the Grammy-winning artist's Web site, Vrenna's studio collaborations include work with David Bowie, Marilyn Manson, P.O.D., Rob Zombie, Smashing Pumpkins, Weezer, and Xzibit. Vrenna, currently with the band Tweaker, also contributed to U2's "Elevation (Tomb Raider Mix)" for the Tomb Raider movie.

Midway also recently announced that character designer Stan Winston would be working on the game.

Scheduled to ship in 2004, Area 51 will feature both a single-player campaign and online play for PS2 and Xbox.
