Despite a close semi-final game, Clamp the 16-year-old wunderkind, not only controlled the finals of the Seismic Showdown, he also kept a massive lead over former pro Kornelia in the bonus round, going on to win $1000 in gift certificates from NewEgg.com.
In the semi-finals, Clamp finished 18-16 over Raistlin to move on to the finals. His opponent there, DP1, came in with a solid 16-13 victory over his opponent, Lysis. Despite holding a long lead over Lysis, DP1 said before the finals that he did not care for the map that was being used.
During the finals, DP1 took the first two kills at 13 minutes in, but started losing ground fast. By the half way point of the match, Clamp had a significant lead at 10-2. While DP1 started to make a comeback, the match still finished 16-10 in Clamp's favor, winning him $750 from NewEgg.com.
Clamp's match with Kornelia was even more lopsided, with the former pro not scoring a single point against Clamp until over half way into the match, when Clamp already had racked up 21 points on the board. At the end, Clamp won against Kornelia 30-10, winning an additional $250 from NewEgg.com. Stay tuned as we'll be posting more details of the matches very soon!
