CoD Season 4 Release Date, Ana De Armas Operator, Return Of Zombies Grief Mode, And More Revealed
Here's everything we know and what we've heard so far about Black Ops 6's Season 4 update.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone are set to expand in a big way this week with the arrival of Season 4. In this post, we're running through everything that's announced so far including new weapons, more maps, and the arrival of Ballerina star Ana de Armas as a playable charatcer.
Activision shared all the details in an extensive blog post.
Season 4 release date
Season 4 for Black Ops 6 and Warzone will launch on May 29, and it should arrive that day around 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET.
Season 4 story trailer and launch trailer
Each new Call of Duty season continues the ongoing narrative, and that's no different for Season 4. In the new season, players can expect the return of a popular character--Stitch.
"After a daring black site breakout staged by Adler, he strikes a deal with the devil. Crack the codes and unmask the Pantheon moles in Season 04 of Black Ops 6," reads a line from the description.
Activision has released a launch trailer for Season 4 as well.
New maps
The new maps for Season 4 include Shutdown, Fugitive, Eclipse, and Blitz, all of which are brand-new maps, while a remaster of the Black Ops 3 map Fringe is coming sometime mid-season.
Take a look at all the new maps in the gallery below.

New modes
One of the new modes coming to Black Ops 6's multiplayer in Season 4 is Team Elimination, which is a twist on Kill Confirmed and will be available right at launch. "Two teams are given a limited amount of lives each round as they fight to be the last surviving team," reads a line from the description. "Players drop a dog tag on death that can be picked up by the enemy to confirm the kill or by a teammate to deny the opposing team. Survive longer than the other team or hold the most remaining lives when the timer ends to win the round."

Sometime mid-season, Black Ops 6 will add the mode One in the Chamber. This fan-favorite free-for-all mode has players given a pistol with a single bullet, a knife, and three lives. Players earn extra ammo for every elimination.
A new mode called Party Ops is coming mid-season, and it's a limited-time mode featuring a randomized set of party-themed minigames.
New operators
As the new cinematic alludes to, Season 4 is adding Stitch as a playable character, and he looks quite menacing. Also coming in Season 4 are a group of new skins for Adler.

John Wick's Ballerina/Ana de Armas
Call of Duty is also adding a crossover with the John Wick movie Ballerina, which stars Ana de Armas. She's coming to the game in the Ballerina Tracer Pack, which includes two skins for Eve, along with special guns and a variety of cosmetics.
"Seeking revenge for her slain father, Eve Macarro embarks on a relentless mission against the High Table's most feared opponents," reads a line from the DLC's description. This bundle comes out sometime mid-season, presumably around the time Ballerina comes to theaters on June 6.

More new content
Players can look forward to a new scorestreak sometime in Season 4. It's called Grim Reaper, and it returns from the original Black Ops game. Grim Reaper is a powerful semi-automatic launcher that fires up to four rockets in one load.
"Wield the Grim Reaper, a quad tube loaded Launcher capable of inflicting heavy damage on enemies. Whether targeting Operators or locking on to enemy Scorestreaks, the Grim Reaper's payload delivers a huge explosion. The weapon is lost if you're taken out, so save it for the right moment and bring backup to ensure you have the protection needed to unleash havoc," Activision said.

Battle pass and Blackcell
Of course, Season 4 will introduce a new battle pass, and completing it yields a new Stitch skin. You can check out the contents of the battle pass below.
The new battle pass is available for 1,100 COD Points (about $10 USD) or in the Season 4 Battle Pass bundle for 2,400 COD Points (about $20 USD) that unlocks the "Instant Rewards Page" of the pass, as well as all of this:
- 10% Battle Pass XP Boost
- The new “Supermax” Stitch Operator and “Supermax BlackCell” Stitch Operator Skin for those who purchase BlackCell
- The “Lock Up” Legendary Blueprint for the Feng 82 LMG
- The “Try Me!” Emote
- The “Untamable” Large Decal
- Start to unlock up to 1,100 COD Points as you progress through the Battle Pass
In total, the Season 4 battle pass comes with 110 piece of unlockable items, including new weapons, skins, and more.

As for Season 4's new Blackcell bundle, this new one comes with an operator named Omen, an "otherworldly" creature who has a three-headed guard dog by his side.
Buying the Blackcell bundle includes all of this:
- The “Omen” BlackCell Operator and Skin
- 10% XP Boost
- 1,100 COD Points
- The “Guard Dog” Companion Finishing Move
- The “Hellblock” Mastercraft Blueprint for the Ladra SMG
- The “Kill Tally” Gun Screen
- The “BlackCell” Clan Tag (showcased in Lobbies and Winner’s Circles)

New weapons and attachments
Each new Call of Duty season typically adds more weapons for everyone, and that's also the case with Season 4. Players can look forward to the arrival of the LC10, FFAR 1, the Essex Model 7, the Olympia, and the Pickaxe melee weapon.

There are new attachments coming, too, including the G-Grip for SMGs that improves firing stability; the Stryder .22 three-round burst mod is coming in Season 4 as well. The SVD full auto mod and the RD2 CQB auto conversation are being added as new weapon attachments this season as well.
Zombies content
Grief returns
Beyond multiplayer, the Season 4 update of course adds more Warzone and Zombies content, too. The biggest thing to know for Zombies is that the Grief mode is coming back.
Grief hasn't been back since Black Ops 2, so fans are pretty excited about its return in Black Ops 6. This is a 4v4 competitive mode where two teams to try capture zones to and fight to survive.
"As the battlelines are drawn between S.A.M. and Director Richtofen, each team pledges their support to one of these rivals at the start of a match, subsequently receiving handler comms support from one of them throughout the ensuing chaos," Activision said.
There doesn't appear to be a new Zombies map for Season 4, however.

Warzone
As for what's new in Warzone, Season 4's highlights include a new point of interest, the skyscraper known as The Overlook. It features ziplines for quick access and a large area inside for skirmishes.
New modes
Warzone is also getting new modes, including the return of Clash. This is a 52 vs. 52 deathmatch mode on Verdansk. Also coming to Warzone in Season 4 is Havoc Royale, which is a 44-player match on Verdansk where "sudden changes" occur that modify the gameplay experience. "Survive the Havoc, be the last team standing, and claim victory!" Activision said. The Resurgence Casual mode is also coming in Season 4 for the Rebirth Island map. The twist here is that some teammates are bots, and it's designed as a warm up arena or training ground for players looking to hone their skills.

Double-jump and wall-running?
Are we getting wall-running in Call of Duty before GTA 6? It seems like it's possible, as people have discovered a double-jump command in the game's code, while players can also seemingly run on walls. It's possible this is leftover code and isn't representative of anything coming to Black Ops 6 or the new Call of Duty later this year. But people are theorizing that Activision might add a limited-time mode in Season 4 that tests the waters for double-jumps and wall-running. The Season 4 blog post, however, does not mention anything at all about this.
A double jump type moment has been found in Black Ops 6 files after recent update. It’s not clear yet if this will actually be used in Call of Duty 2025 or leftover code. pic.twitter.com/5kxBoTnNA0
