CoD: Warzone And Vanguard Season 2 Reloaded Start Times And Details Revealed
Here's what we know about the mid-season update for Season 2 of Vanguard and Warzone.
Call of Duty's Season 2 Reloaded update for Vanguard and Warzone is kicking off very soon, and we have the exact start times for the update in both games. Season 2's mid-season update is set to bring large-scale warfare to Vanguard's multiplayer, and it will also include some big changes to the Warzone map. Here's what we know so far about Season 2 Reloaded.
When is the Season 2 Reloaded update?
Call of Duty's Season 2 Reloaded mid-season update begins on March 22 at 9 AM PT for Vanguard, followed by Warzone the following day at the same time . Sledgehammer Games made the announcement just a few days before it was set to start, confirming what we expected based on when the previous battle pass ended.
New weapons and operator
The mid-season update is set two bring two new weapons to both Vanguard and Warzone. The Ice Axe melee weapon and the Armaguerra 43 submachine gun will be available to unlock either for free through an in-game challenge or through the purchase of a cosmetic bundle in the in-game shop. The Ice Axe is described as both a melee and throwing weapon, while the Armaguerra 43 is a submachine gun with a very high rate-of-fire.
For the new operator, Gustavo Dos Santos will arrive to join Anna Drake and Thomas Bolt as the final member of Season 2's Task Force Yeti. Operators added mid-season are usually not free, so players can likely expect to find Gustavo for purchase with an in-game cosmetic bundle after the update arrives.
Warzone
Rebirth Island map changes
Season 2 launched with new equipment, features, and points of interest for Caldera, and now the mid-season update is set to make a visual overhaul of the smaller Rebirth Island map. Activision previously stated that Rebirth Island's current Iron Trials limited-time mode would be the final mode for the map and serve as an encore for the current Black Ops Cold War version of the prison island. Here's what we know so far and some speculation on what the changes could mean for Warzone's future.
Rebirth Reinforced
Season 2's roadmap for Warzone also announced something called Rebirth Reinforced. This features "significantly altered" points on the map via Perseus, including changes to Stronghold and an entirely new point of interest called Dock.
Vanguard
New multiplayer map and mode
At Season 2's launch, Activision teased a new "Arms Race" mode that will take place on an upcoming large-scale map. Arms Race is described as using armored motorcycles, squad transport vehicles, and tanks to destroy enemy bases. Based on the Season 2 trailer and roadmap details, this is likely going to be a snowy map set in the alps. Not much more has been revealed about this upcoming mode, but Activision said Sledgehammer Games would provide more details at a later time.
Weapon balancing
Vanguard's multiplayer recently received a few sniper rifle changes, but Sledgehammer Games has detailed some changes that were delayed until the mid-season update. These changes should include a reduction of flinch for the Type 99 sniper rifle, and an increase in ADS speed for both the Type 99 and the Kar98k snipers.
Zombies
Vanguard's Zombie mode received a large content update at the start of Season 2, with a new map location, Easter egg quests, wonder weapons, and more. Unfortunately, little is known about what players can expect to change for the mid-season update.
In other Call of Duty news, Activision has confirmed that Warzone is coming to mobile. The announcement was light on game details, as the blog post revealed the publisher is currently hiring for development of this mobile adaption.
