Today Nokia and Codemasters announced that the latest installment in the long-running Colin McRae Rally series is coming to the N-Gage. Slated for a fall 2004 release, the game will feature new courses and up-to-date cars and will support the N-Gage Arena system.

“It’s great to be able to bring Colin McRae Rally 2005, as the most successful brand in rally gaming, to the N-Gage mobile gaming audience,” said Codemasters CEO Jim Darling. “We’re really excited to work with the N-Gage team and build games that take advantage of the mobile connected features of the N-Gage platform.”

The game is being developed by UK-based Ideaworks3D, which has won several awards for its mobile games. Among the games it has brought to the mobile platforms are Tomb Raider, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4, and another racing game, V-Rally.

Codemasters is also releasing Colin McRae Rally 2005 for the Xbox in North America and for the Xbox and PS2 in Europe. All versions of the game should hit stores this fall.
