Colin McRae Rally gets checkered flag

Colin McRae Rally 2005 has shipped to North American retail outlets nationwide for the Xbox, publisher Codemasters announced today. Featuring eight-player, head-to-head racing via Xbox Live and more than 30 licensed cars, from Alfa Romeos to Volkswagen Beetles, the title gives players the choice of competing in multiplayer mode or embarking on a professional rally career.

A PC version of the game will be available in October but only through online orders on Codemasters' Web site. The PlayStation 2 version of the game is only available in Europe and Australia. The Xbox version is rated "E" for Everyone and has an MSRP of $29.99.
