Comic-Con 2018: PS4's Spider-Man Is Getting Four Funko Pop Figures
With great Funko Pop figures, comes a great responsibility to buy.
Key characters from the upcoming Spider-Man video game are getting their own Funko Pops. Revealed at San Diego Comic-Con, all four figures are scheduled to release this September, the same month as the game.
The four Funko Pops are of an unmasked Peter Parker, Mister Negative, Miles Morales, and Mary Jane. Fans of the wall crawler will probably recognize both Peter and Mary Jane, but all four characters have a history in Spider-Man's comics. Mister Negative is a super villain who normally clashes with Spider-Man, Punisher, or Cloak and Dagger. He has superhuman strength, and in the Spider-Man video game he can also fire blasts of negative energy from his hands. Miles Morales is the new Spider-Man in the Ultimate Marvel continuity, who takes on the mantle after Peter Parker's death. He's not as strong as Peter, but he's faster, can camouflage into his surroundings, and has paralyzing venom stingers in his fingertips. Miles doesn't appear to have his powers yet in the game.
Spider-Man is an upcoming Sony PS4 exclusive. The video game will tell an original story, in which Peter comes into conflict with Mister Negative, who leads a gang called the Inner Demons, and a new Sinister Six that's been decked out in new technological suits that enhance their abilities. Police captain Yuri Watanabe, Mary Jane Watson, and Miles Morales join Peter in his efforts to save New York City from the growing number of threats.
A limited edition PS4 Pro bundle for Spider-Man was announced at SDCC 2018. The bundle includes the game, a red PS4 that's been stylized with the white spider that cover's Peter's new suit, a red Dualshock 4 wireless controller, and some added digital content.
Spider-Man is scheduled to launch for PS4 on September 7.
